***Important point for cv writing***
Collected some DON'Ts of CV which are observed in many Pakistani students CV..
1. Don’t mention your RELIGION (who cares?)
2. Don’t mention AGE
3. Don’t mention your NIC NO or PASSPORT NO (who cares?)
4. Don’t mention your marital status
5. Don’t put your PICTURE unless its specifically mentioned doing so
6. Don’t just WRITE NAME OF YOUR FYP and Projects. Describe them briefly what you did and what you got in the result. FYP 3-4 lines and projects 1-2 lines depending on available space on your CV
7. Don’t do FORMATTING MISTAKES. It shows how you can present yourself. Everything counts in it such as line spacing, font color, and size, alignment, etc. Always print your CV and see how it is looking before sending anywhere
8. Don’t make GRAMMAR MISTAKES. You can use Grammarly plugin in word
9. Don’t make USELESS HEADINGS in CV. It creates a very bad impression that you just want to increase length. Employers and professors are not fooled they know when you do it.
10. Don’t throw the same CV everywhere. You have to tailor as per opportunity
11. Don’t make a LONG CV. The 1-2 page are enough for fresh graduate
12. Don’t mention YOUR SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS like I was a monitor, won musical chair competition. No one cares what you did at school! Especially when you are applying for masters and PhD
13. Don’t just finalize your CV by yourself. Always make sure GET IT CHECKED from 2-3 seniors of your field
14. Don’t be LAZY AND DEPENDENT. As a graduate, you should have good COMMAND ON MS WORD at least. otherwise, you don’t deserve an MNC job or prestigious scholarships. Be creative and make an attractive CV. You can see millions of samples on google
