The best part of this Ferny Grove kitchen is the wall that isn’t there.

Open the stackers and the bench keeps running out to the patio. Cook inside, serve outside, no doors in the way. The plywood ceiling carries through the same line so it reads as one room rather than a kitchen with a door to the yard.

Our clients in Ferny love the matte black joinery floor to ceiling with two wall ovens sitting flush compliment the timber island.

Mirrored splashback doubles the depth and throws light back down the bench. Under-cabinet strips pick up the grain at night.

It opens straight into the living zone. From the island, you see the sofa, the window, the yard.

Small footprint = no wasted space to this modern bathroom in Sherwood

Getting a toilet, shower and full vanity into a bathroom this size comes down to the layout, not the finishes. Cutting the corner of the shower screen on an angle gave back the clearance needed to walk past the toilet comfortably.

The old deck was replaced with a larger platform and a flyover roof, so the space works year round rather than just on mild afternoons.

An original Morningside Queenslander raised and reworked, with the entry moved to the centre and approached through a break in the rendered front wall. The gable, timber brackets and leadlight vent all stayed.

This Ashgrove carport was designed to sit naturally with the existing Queenslander home.

The pitched roof, weatherboard cladding, white finishes and simple gable form reflect the character of the original house. A horizontal slatted garage door provides privacy and security while keeping the frontage open and lightweight.

The result is a practical double carport that adds usable space without competing with the home’s traditional street appeal.
