Your website might look fine at first glance... but it could still be making people work harder than they need to!

For health, wellness, and NDIS businesses, those invisible friction points matter greatly. It might be the service page that sounds nice but doesn't clearly explain who you help or the contact buttons that are buried to far down the page. It could even be the accessibility issues like tiny text, unclear headings, or layouts that feel overwhelming when someone is already tired, anxious, or searching for support with low capacity.

The tricky thing is that people aren't going to tell you they got confused. They're not going to email to say, "your website made me feel unsure." They'll just leave, delay reaching out, or choose someone else entirely.

If your website isn't turning visitors into enquiries, those tiny friction points might be part of the problem. Message me or visit my website to book your free discovery call today!

Today on Jeans for Genes Day, we are reminded that health stories often begin long before someone has the language, diagnosis, support, or even answers they need.

As someone who has lived with chronic illness and disability from such a young age, I know how intertwined health can be as it shapes your life, family, future, and the way you move through the world. Jeans for Genes Day matters because it brings attention to children and families impacted by genetic conditions, while also reminding us how important research, awareness, and compassion truly are.

I'm Sam (they/them) the creative mind behind Angell Designs, and my lived experience is a huge reason as to why I care so much about accessibility and humanity in design... especiall in health, wellness, and NDIS spaces. People deserve information that feels easy to understand, support that feels human, and systems that don't make already difficult things any harder.

If you're wearing denim today, donating, sharing a post, or simply learning more, it all helps the conversation moving forward.

Hello September!

Spring has arrived in Australia, which means warm weather, flowers and pollen everywhere.

This month is the perfect time to check in with your branding goals. Is your business being reflected in your websites and posts? Or have you outgrown your current branding.

I'm Sam (they/them) your friendly q***r and disabled branding specialist. I design websites, posts and brands with real people in mind. Because good design doesn't just focus on aesthetics. It makes sure your business goals are being reflected in your brand.

If your website or brand needs a revamp, I'm currently taking on clients for September and October. Message me or visit my website for more details.

A calm website is not about making everything beige, minimal, and so quiet it looks like it's afraid of having an actual personality. For NDIS providers (and other health and wellness businesses), a calm website means your audience can land on your page and understand how you help.

I'm sam (they/them) the q***r and disabled creative director behind Angell Designs. I create websites that feel accessible, human, and supportive for the people using them. When someone arrives tired, anxious, or searching for support with low capacity, your website shouldn't be another hurdle.

If you're ready to transform your website, I'm currently taking clients for September and October. Message me or visit my website (link in bio) for more information

Your audience won't always arrive on your website calm, focused, and ready to read every work like they're studying for an exam.

For wellness and NDIS providers, people frequently land on your site while stressed, tired, or simply desperately trying to find support for themselves or someone they love. The emotional state changes how they read and navigate through. Which is why your website needs to reduce pressure.

I'm Sam (they/them) your friendly q***r and disabled branding specialist. I design websites with real people in mind. Because good design doesn't just focus on aesthetics. It makes sure people feel good even with very little capacity left.

If your website needs a revamp, I'm currently taking on clients for September and October. Message me or visit my website for more details.

When someone lands on a health or wellness website, they're not only looking for information. They want to know whether they can trust you with their story, body, and/or mind.

That's why trust cues matter. Things like clear qualifications, testimonials (or other social proof), and accessible contact options all help reduce uncertainty. They show people who you are, what you do, how you help, and what happens next without making them dig for reassurance.

I'm Sam (they/them) the q***r and disabled creative director behind Angell Designs helping health, wellness, and NDIS providers create websites that are accessible and feel human and trustworthy from the first click. Because in the disability-sector, your website is often the first moment someone decides whether reaching out feels safe enough.

If your website isn't building trust as clearly as it could, I'm now taking clients for September and October. Message me or visit my website for more information

We get so caught up in the expectations of what we should or should not be doing, trying to mold ourselves into a version that feels safe to the outside world. But true belonging does not come from fitting into a mold, it comes from having the courage to strip away the expectations and just allow yourself to be human. As Sam shares, itโ€™s about being entirely true to who you are, regardless of who that actually is.

In this episode of Allow Yourself Podcast, Beatriz โ€œBatyaโ€ Bron sits down with branding strategist, designer, author, and founder of Angels Design, Sam Angell, for an inspiring conversation on branding for belonging, radical authenticity and acceptance. If you are tired of living behind a curtain of appearances and are ready to reclaim your own truth, this episode is your invitation to step into a life of genuine alignment and start being true to yourself.

There's something really special about receiving a testimonial from a client.

Every brand, website, social media, or other design project starts with someone saying, "I need help!" And when the final result helps them feel more confident, more aligned, and more ready to show up in their business, that's the part that means the most to me.

I'm Sam (they/them), the q***r and disabled creative director behind Angell Designs, helping health, wellness, and NDIS providers to create brands, websites, and content that's accessible, thoughtful, and genuinely human. Testimonials like this from reminds me why my work matters: because good design doesn't just look polished, but it actually helps people feel seen, supported, and truly truly understood.

If you're ready to work with a designer who brings strategy, lived experience, accessibility, and honest care into your brand, website, or social media, message me or visit my website today!!

Brand strategy and brand identity often get used like they're the same thing... but they do very different jobs in your business.

If you're a health, wellness or NDIS provider, your brand has to do so much more than just look nice. It has to help people feel safe enough to trust you.

That's why brand strategy and brand identity both matter. Strategy is the deeper thinking behind your business. Identity is how that thinking becomes visible through your logo, colours, fonts, and overall design style.

When those two piece work together, your brand feels clearer, calmer, and more recognisable. Participants, families, referrers, and potential clients can understand who you are faster and in disability-based industries, that clarity can be the difference between someone feeling confident enough to reach out or silently moving on.

If your brand doesn't fully reflect the care, professionalism, and personality behind your work, message me or visit my website to book your free discovery call today!

I thought it was probably time for a little reintroduction.

I'm Sam (they/them), the person and creative visionary behind Angell Designs. I'm a non-binary, q***r, and disabled branding specialist, author, advocate, and NDIS participant. I help health, wellness, and NDIS businesses create brands, websites, social media, and more that feel strategic, and genuinely human (no AI in sight!!!)

But... the reason I do the work I do goes much deeper than "I like design" (although... for the record, I absolutely love it! Very, very much). My brain sees a badly spaced layout and immediately wants to hold an intervention.

Angell Designs started because I needed to build a life that truly worked with my body and mind. Traditional work was never built for the reality of my disabilities nor the chaos of being a human with an extremely complex and messy operating system.

SO I built something different.

Now, growing and sustaining my business is one of my own NDIS goals. Angell Designs is a crucial part of my independence, my future, and the way I get to contribute to the same communities I'm also part of.

That lived experience is what makes my work different.

When I design a website for an NDIS provider, I'm thinking of the participant (like myself) searching desperately for support at 2am. When I create social media content for a wellness business, I'm thinking about the person using a screen reader and relying on alt text. When I build a brand, I'm thinking about how trust, accessibility, and humanity can be felt before a client ever speaks to you.

I'm also proud to share I was awarded Graphic Designer of the Year (2026) by Prestige Awards Australia. It's recognition that means the world to me after 8 years of building my business through every high, low, hospital visit, and intense pivot.

So if you're new here: Welcome!!!

I'm here for thoughtful design, accessible websites, honest storytelling, disabled joy, and helping good people do good work without sounding like a corporate brochure in a trench coat.

If you're a health, wellness, or NDIS business owner looking for branding, website design, social media support, or some other design project... I'm taking clients for September and October so message me or visit my website to book your free discovery call today!!
