“Sony’s new compressed versions of X-OCN, C1 & C2 are also exceptional. We now have the ability to record 16-bit 4:4:4 Linear RAW internally without the heavy storage demands.

BURANO v4 release date confirmed! 🚨

Firmware Version 4.0 will include:

✅ Support for X-OCN ST
✅ Support for control in Multi Camera System (MCS) using the MSU and CNA-2
✅ Support for OpenTrackIO

* Masterclass: Immersive Art - from 15:00 to 16:30
* Cinematography Masterclass - from 18h A not-to-be-missed event with cinematographer Francesco Di Giacomo, nominated at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, who will share insights about his work on Succederà questa notte, from Nanni Moretti shot on VENICE 2.
 
The evening will conclude with a cocktail reception – the perfect opportunity to connect and share experiences. We will also have a demo area with the RIALTO MINI and the FX5 at the festival.

Previously limited to high-end cinema cameras like the VENICE and the BURANO, the FX5 introduces internal 16-bit X-OCN RAW recording with two newly developed, highly compact compressed codec options named X-OCN C1 and X-OCN C2, alongside the existing X-OCN LT format. That’s really what I look for in a camera.”

“Because we were working with a mix of practical lights in the frame and darker corners in the space, the 15-plus stops of dynamic range became really important for us. There were plenty of times when warm lamps were visible in the shot while we still needed to hold detail in the surrounding areas. The FX5’s base ISO options were a massive help here too. With this camera, we didn’t feel like we were constantly having to protect highlights or sacrifice shadow detail to noise.”

As part of the Future Lab exhibition at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, Sony showcased its extended reality solutions from capture to display using XYN, Spatial Reality Display and Crystal LED Verona! 🏁

With XYN as the central technology, Sony took iconic motorsport locations and objects and brought them to life digitally.

On the booth visitors were invited to step into the Virtual Tyrrell shed, choose their Le Mans '66 GT40 and experience the immersive environment with their own Tyrrell Shed interview.
