Scanning an Isuzu Truck for Custom 4x4 Mods | 3D Scan, Fender Flare Draft & ASA Printing

I’m kicking off a full custom 3D‑modelling project on this Isuzu truck—starting with a complete 3D scan using the EINSTAR Rockit to capture every contour before designing a new off‑road fender flare and step enclosure.

This episode covers the full scanning workflow and the first‑draft 3D model of the fender flare. The prototype will be printed on my QIDI Max 4 in ASA or ASA‑CF for strength, heat resistance, and durability.

Next up: modelling the step enclosure and refining the flare for fitment.

And for the big reveal—I've also been contracted to design a brand‑new custom bonnet with aggressive styling and integrated logo features. Huge project ahead, so stay tuned.

In this video I show the final ASA-CF HQ dash insert designed to hold a Haltech IC7 screen. This was designed for a client, and includes a logo, and specific cut outs to suit their needs. I can do versions for anyone else who is after something similar - just drop me a line.

The scan was done with my EINSTAR Rockit - it produced an amazing result!

I see a lot of questions asked about what scanner to buy for ### amount of money. I have owned the budget friendly scanners, and the awesome stand-alone Vega. There are a lot of reviews about how good the Einstar Rigil and Rigil Lite are, but they are a bit beyond my budget. Seeking a great quality, pro-sumer laser scanner within budget I recently got the EINSTAR Rockit. This video is my unboxing - showing what you get for US$1799. I will be posting a series of setup and scans in coming weeks as I step up into the realm of quality laser scanners.

In this video, for the 1970 VW Type 3 centre console, I show a few different material finishes that I am experimenting with to create a clean and good quality finish for the project. I really like the ASA-CF and think that is the one I'll go with for the final version(s). Let me know which material finish you prefer.
