Scamwatch Alert

Beware of scam calls impersonating NBN. These aren’t new, but recently scammers have changed up their script. They now say they are offering a refund for slow internet speeds & tell you to Google this old ACCC article to seem legit. If you get this call, hang up, it’s a scam.

The best defence against a scam is to recognise that it's a scam.
Here are some simple tips to protect yourself from scammers.

If you receive something suspicious...
Don't Panic.
Don't reply to a suspicious email or SMS.
Don't click on links within a suspicious email or SMS.
Don't call back missed calls if you don't recognise the number.
Don't return suspicious voicemail messages.
Remain calm. Help is just a phone call, SMS or email away.

Existing PC Help@Home clients can forward the suspicious email or SMS to me. I'll review the email or SMS and let you know if it's legitimate or a scam.

Since August 2021, many Australians have been getting scam text messages about tracking a delivery, missed calls or voicemails, along with a link to download some software. If you receive one of these messages, do not click or tap on the link. Delete the message immediately.
