Just launched: foragesafarisafrica.com

Jan Stewart has been planning African safaris for years, alongside her Margaret River food and wine tours. Two genuinely good offers, one website. The Africa side never had the room to tell its own story, and enquiries came through a personal Gmail address while the press coverage sat scattered across the internet.

Stage One was a deliberately small brief: give Africa its own home. One page, its own domain, a professional email, and a structure that follows how people actually research a trip like this. Story first, because Jan has been there herself and that's the one thing no booking engine can say. Proof second, with the Channel 9 Getaway, Kia Ora and Escape features finally gathered in one place. Journeys third. Enquiry last, built to feel like starting a conversation with Jan rather than signing up for anything.

A one-page site was the right call here, not a compromise. Trips like these sell through conversation, so the page has one job: open that conversation.

If you run a business with two offers sharing one website, it's worth asking whether each one has room to breathe. Sometimes the most useful move is giving one of them its own address.

This is Stage One of a staged pathway. The site grows as the business does.

Websites don't fail because they're ugly. They fail because they're saying the wrong thing.

Miki Jewellery had a story most brands would kill for. Every piece designed in-house by Nicola, born at the local markets, now stocked in surf shops and boutiques across Australia. The old site just wasn't telling it.

So we started with strategy, not Shopify. Market analysis, customer research, positioning work. Then CRO testing on real traffic before a single page was designed. By the time we built the new site, every decision already had evidence behind it.

Swipe through for how it came together.

Even marketers put their own website last.

Lizzy Pepper spends her days making other businesses shine online. Which meant her own website kept sliding to the bottom of the list. Sound familiar?

Her services had evolved. Her website hadn't caught up. So we fixed that, in this order:

- A positioning workshop before any design. What to say, before how it looks.
- A move to Squarespace, so she can update everything herself.
- SEO foundations built in from day one, protecting the rankings she'd already earned.
- The invisible stuff (domain, email, DNS) handled behind the scenes, so launch day was smooth.

My favourite part? Watching a marketing pro get genuinely excited about her own marketing again.

If your website no longer reflects the business you've become, that's usually the sign it's time.

Strategy first. Design second.

When Down South Physio came to me, they had a good problem. A thriving clinic with real depth across sports rehab, women's health, post-op and more. So much on offer that patients weren't always sure who to book with, and most of the demand still landed on the founder.

A prettier website wouldn't fix that. Clarity would.

So before touching any design, I mapped out who they're actually speaking to, clarified how each service is positioned, and built a clear path for every patient to land with the right physio for them. The homepage, the quiz, the way the whole team is presented online: all of it flows from that thinking.

The result is a site that does more than look good. It guides people, spreads demand across the team, and reflects the genuinely excellent care that already happens in the clinic.

If your business has grown past what your website says it does, that's usually a positioning problem before it's a design one. Happy to talk it through. Link in bio.

I’ve been busy building, refining, and problem-solving other people’s businesses, so Instagram’s taken a back seat for a while.

After thinking about why someone would even click through to my profile, it really comes down to two things:
to see if they’d like to work with me, or to understand how I think about digital marketing.

The teaching side is tricky. Digital marketing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and what’s genuinely useful tends to depend on context. That said, if you’ve got a specific question or challenge, I’m always happy to talk it through.

So going forward, BYKP Instagram will simply be a portfolio.
Real projects. Real businesses. Work done properly.
Consider it an extension of what’s already on the website.

More work coming through over the next few weeks.
Unlike DJs, I’m also taking requests (for tips and direction, not songs).
