Yesterday I gave a talk at AI Horizons around the theme: “Build What Matters with AI.”
The core idea was simple:
AI is not replacing expertise.
It’s amplifying it.
For the first time, domain experts who deeply understand industries, customers, and operational problems can prototype and test ideas faster than ever before.
That’s incredibly powerful.
But there’s an important reality:
AI is going to do what you ask it to do.
And you don’t know what you don’t know.
The output AI gives you will always be shaped by your own foundations and understanding.
That’s why I believe software engineers are becoming more important, not less.
Because building software isn’t just about creating features.
It’s about building systems that can survive reality:
scale, security, complexity, reliability, and real users.
The future isn’t AI vs engineers.
Or non technical vs technical people.
The future belongs to collaborators:
domain experts + AI + engineers working together to build things that actually matter.
Thank you for the opportunity, was an absolute pleasure!
