EOFY 2026: small business owners, this is the bit your accountant won't always volunteer.
The $20,000 instant asset write-off threshold ends 30 June. From 1 July it drops to $1,000.
That means anything you legitimately need for IT (laptop, monitors, network gear, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 setup) booked, invoiced AND "installed ready for use" before 30 June can typically be written off in this year's books.
We've put together a practical, advisor-not-salesperson guide for Melbourne small businesses:
✓ What IT spend actually qualifies
✓ The "installed ready for use" trap most owners miss
✓ The Microsoft 365 + Copilot angle
✓ A 7-week action plan from now to 30 June
