There's a lot of discussion about AI-generated content lately, and I think we're asking the wrong question.
The real question isn't "Was AI used?"
It's "How was AI used?"
Not all AI users are the same.
Person 1: The Copier
"Write me a LinkedIn post about leadership."
Copy.
Paste.
Done.
Very little thinking happened.
That's the content people are getting tired of.
Person 2: The Enhancer
"I've got an idea but I don't know how to explain it."
This person already has experience.
AI helps organise their thoughts.
Their knowledge becomes clearer.
Person 3: The Collaborator
This is where I think the future sits.
The human and AI bounce ideas backwards and forwards.
Questions get challenged.
Arguments get refined.
Examples get added.
The final result is better because of the collaboration.
That's not replacement.
That's partnership.
Person 4: The Strategist
This person goes beyond writing.
They use AI to research, challenge assumptions, verify information, identify risks, refine strategy and improve decision-making before anything is ever published.
The content is simply the final outcome of a much bigger thinking process.
Here's the question I keep coming back to...
If someone spends three hours thinking, and AI reduces the writing to fifteen minutes...
Did AI remove the thinking? Or did it remove the typing?
They're two completely different things.
Business owners aren't trying to avoid thinking.
They're trying to avoid wasting time on repetitive production so they can spend more time where they create the greatest value.
Are you using AI to copy... or are you using it to collaborate?
