END OF FINANCIAL YEAR SALE!

Prices are as follows:

Large 24" x 18" frame: with A3+ photo and your choice of matting colour (black or white) will be $100. (Usually $125)

Medium A3 frame: with either A3 full frame photo, or A4 photo with your choice of matting. $75 (usually $90)

Small A4 framed photo: $40 (usually $50)

If you prefer unframed (easier and cheaper to post) the prices are as follows:

Large (A3+) $75
Medium (A3) $50
Small (A4) $30

We had a successful sky your with Toby Potter friday night!
Toby done a fantastic job and by all reports his presentation was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone present!

The Wimmera section of the Astronomical society of Victoria invites YOU to A SKY TOUR WITH TOBY!

Friday the 27th of March at 8:30pm, we will be hosting a free public event with astrophysicist Toby Potter at the Winiam recreation reserve! (Winiam hall and cricket oval 9 minutes south of Nhill).

The event will feature 'dualling dobsonians' as Toby takes us on a telescope tour of the night sky!
Please invite your family and friends to this DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE event as everyone is welcome, although due to the value of the equipment kids MUST be strictly supervised at all times.
No white lights on the night, so if you have a red or green LED light, PLEASE bring it along!

Distance: 5200 light years from Earth.
Size: 130 light years across.
There are around 2500 young stars in the Rosette Nebula, with a lot of star forming activity still present. Overall, the Nebula is thought to be about 10,000 times more massive than our sun! The Rosette Nebula is sometimes also called 'The Skull Nebula' (it does also resemble a human skull), however it is mostly famous for looking like a beautiful Rose. So much so that in 2019, Oklahoma in the USA (who have Oklahoma Roses), named the Rosette Nebula their official state Astronomical object.
This target is particularly special to me, as our family farm I grew up on was called Oklahoma. And we had an Oklahoma rose bush at the front door of our farm house that my father was given for his 50th birthday. So it's definitely a target I've enjoyed and had been eagerly awaiting!
