Whilst the was back in June with this years focus on the belief that ‘Equity in Mining is Everyone’s Responsibility!’, Colleagues Matrixx stand by that statement and align with that sentiment.

Colleagues Matrixx also embrace an ongoing commitment to the recognition, and accomplishments attained by the many past and present female geologists across the globe, and believe in the ongoing celebration of all these wonderful women and their many achievements.

In our new article we explore and celebrate many of the most prominent female geologists. There are thousands of females currently working as geologists all over the world, and this list of female geologists is a small collection of them, however it does highlight the most notable ones, and we hope to illuminate a select group of these exceptional women whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the field.

Historic female geologists have worked hard to become the best that they can be, and their narratives of resilience and triumph stand as beacons of inspiration for aspiring female geologists seeking to embark upon a similar journey of discovery and innovation.

Not all digital PLOD/DDR management systems are created equal. As the rise of the digital PLOD / digital DDR takes hold, many systems are fraught with issues that they don't include in their marketing or fine print.

We should know, as often we have companies reach out to us, frustrated after having adopted a digital PLOD system that doesn't quite meet their needs, looking for an alternative solution.

What are the issues we are seeing in the market?

* There is limited scope for custom development on basic packages, and the out of the box solution they implemented misses vital information.
* Mining companies are moving towards preferred suppliers for their PLOD reporting systems, the company they are using is not one of them.
* Acquisitions are forcing drilling contractors to use new systems, after already having invested training and planning into their current systems.
* The customer service they receive is minimal, and problems are not solved quickly, causing reputational risk and impacting relationships with the mining companies they work with.
* The systems are still using import or export of CSVs either at drilling rig end or client mining company end, ultimately making all parties non-compliant with SOC2, JORC and other regulations.
* The cost is prohibitive and their pricing tiers are not structured to support the drilling companies growth (paying extra fees per plod gets costly!)

Ultimately, implementing a digital PLOD system into your drilling business is likely one of the most significant digital tools you will adopt (if you have not already). Take the time to look at all options.
