13 years ago ...

This memory popped up on Facebook the other day - a photo I posted back in 2013 of a "nice clean workshop," feeling motivated after tidying up a the garage at my rental, and setting up a decent workspace.

At the time I was just doing contract work to fill the hours while my kids were at school. Starting another business wasn't even on my radar.

Funny how timing works. This memory landed just as we're finishing the move into our own premises at Suite 8/4 Mylne St.

From folding tables in the garage to folding tables in a place that's actually ours - it's been a long road, and I'm grateful for everyone who's been part of it along the way.
.. and yes, they are the same folding tables...

There are moments in business when you stop, look back, and realise just how far you’ve come.

Freedom IT started from humble beginnings, working from a home office. From there, we built a workspace out the back of our home, and kept working, growing and believing in what we could build.

And now, we’ve taken another very special step.

Freedom IT has acquired our own building here in Toowoomba.

This isn’t just about a building. For me, it represents the years of hard work, the challenges, the lessons and, most importantly, the people who have supported us along the way.

To my family and friends, thank you for believing in me and supporting the journey.

To our clients, thank you for trusting Freedom IT with your businesses. We genuinely appreciate every opportunity you’ve given us.

To our business colleagues and the wider Toowoomba community, thank you for your encouragement, referrals, friendship and support.

You’ve all played a part in helping Freedom IT get to where we are today.

Yesterday was one of those days that makes you stop and appreciate the community we live in.

One of the things I love about living and working in Toowoomba is seeing the genuine care people have for one another, both in business and in everyday life.

We were honoured to attend the Homeless Breakfast, where people from all walks of life came together after spending the night out to raise funds and awareness for those experiencing homelessness. Hearing the stories and learning more about the challenges faced by so many people was both humbling and deeply moving.

A huge thank you to Base Services for the incredible work they do every day to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community. It was inspiring to see so many people giving their time, their support and their hearts to such an important cause.

Later that evening, a few of us reflected on the day over dinner at Kaia's Kitchen. It was a simple reminder of how fortunate many of us are. We often take for granted having a safe place to sleep, a warm meal and the certainty of knowing where we'll wake up tomorrow.

Days like yesterday remind us to be grateful, to look out for one another, and to support the organisations that quietly make such a meaningful difference in our community.

Thank you, Toowoomba, for continuing to show what community really looks like. ❤️

What a great way to finish the week.

It was fantastic catching up with so many local business owners at this morning's Toowoomba Business Group networking breakfast. Every time we attend, we're reminded just how supportive, welcoming and innovative the Toowoomba business community is.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat. We always enjoy hearing what businesses are working on, sharing ideas, and making new connections. It's those conversations that make mornings like this so worthwhile.

There are some nights that remind you what a special community we live in.

We were honoured to attend the recent Christmas in July fundraiser and help raise money for people doing it tough. More than the fundraising itself, what really stood out was the number of people who genuinely care.

Looking around the room, it was inspiring to see so many local business owners and community members giving their time, generosity and support to help others. That willingness to lend a hand and look after one another is something that makes the Toowoomba community so special.

We left feeling incredibly grateful, not just to have attended, but to have shared the evening with so many kind and caring people.

A sincere thank you to the organisers for putting together such a meaningful event. It was a wonderful evening, and we’re proud to have been a small part of it.

To everyone who contributed, volunteered or simply showed up to support the cause, thank you. Together, we really can make a difference.

What a week it's been, out and about across the Toowoomba region.

It was a pleasure to attend the Christmas in July fundraiser, helping support a great local cause and raise much-needed funds for our community. We also enjoyed catching up at last week's Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce meeting, including this photo with Richard Games from Serengeti Print.

One of the things we love most is getting out from behind the screens and connecting with local business owners and community groups.
