ফিনল্যান্ডের ন্যাশনাল বোর্ড অব এডুকেশনের মিনা হারম্যানেন জানিয়েছেন, টাইপিং শেখাটা খু্বই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। নিত্যদিনের কাজে এটা দরকার হয়। এজন্যেই তারা এই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন। তবে তিনি স্বীকার করেন, হাতের লেখা তুলে দিয়ে পুরোপুরি টাইপিং এ চলে যাওয়াটা একটা বিরাট পরিবর্তন।

ফিনল্যান্ডের স্কুলগুলোতে হাতে লেখা শেখানো বন্ধ করে দেয়া হচ্ছে। ২০১৬ সাল থেকে দেশটির স্কুলগুলোতে ছেলে-মেয়েদের আর হাতে লিখতে হবে না, হাতে লেখা শেখানোও হবে না। পরিবর্তে তাদের টাইপিং শেখানো হবে।
