🚌 একটি পেনড্রাইভ ভুলের মাশুল যখন ৯ বিলিয়ন ডলারের সাম্রাজ্য!
মুভিকেও হার মানাবে ড্রপবক্স (Dropbox) তৈরির পেছনের সেই রোমাঞ্চকর ইতিহাস।

📍 এক পকেটের শূন্যতা যা বদলে দিল পৃথিবী
সালটা ২০০৬। বস্টন থেকে নিউইয়র্কগামী একটি বাসে জানলার পাশে বসে ছিলেন MIT-র তরুণ মেধাবী ড্রু হিউস্টন (Drew Houston)। দীর্ঘ যাত্রায় ল্যাপটপে কোডিং করার সব প্রস্তুতি ছিল তার, কিন্তু ল্যাপটপ খুলতেই তিনি স্তব্ধ হয়ে গেলেন। তাড়াহুড়োয় প্রজেক্টের সব ফাইল সম্বলিত পেনড্রাইভটি তিনি বাসায় ফেলে এসেছেন!

সাধারণ মানুষ হলে হয়তো হতাশায় ঘুমিয়ে পড়ত, কিন্তু ড্রু ছিলেন ব্যতিক্রম। সেই প্রচণ্ড জেদ থেকেই তিনি বাসে বসে কোড লিখতে শুরু করলেন। তার স্বপ্ন ছিল এমন এক 'ভার্চুয়াল ফোল্ডার' তৈরি করা, যেখানে ফাইল রাখার জন্য কোনো ফিজিক্যাল ড্রাইভের প্রয়োজন হবে না। জন্ম নিল আজকের জনপ্রিয় 'Dropbox'।

২০০৯ সালে ড্রপবক্সের সাফল্যে নজর পড়ে অ্যাপল প্রতিষ্ঠাতা স্টিভ জবসের। তিনি ড্রুকে অ্যাপল হেডকোয়ার্টারে ডেকে সরাসরি প্রস্তাব দেন কোম্পানিটি বিক্রি করে দেওয়ার জন্য। শোনা যায়, সেই অফারটি ছিল প্রায় ১০০ মিলিয়ন ডলারের (প্রায় ১২০০ কোটি টাকা)!

জবস ড্রুকে চ্যালেঞ্জ ছুড়ে দিয়ে বলেছিলেন— "ড্রপবক্স কোনো আলাদা প্রোডাক্ট হতে পারে না, এটি বড়জোর একটি ফিচার।" এমনকি ড্রু বিক্রি করতে রাজি না হওয়ায় জবস হুমকি দিয়েছিলেন যে, অ্যাপল 'iCloud' এনে ড্রপবক্সের অস্তিত্ব মিটিয়ে দেবে।

পরাক্রমশালী অ্যাপল এবং খোদ স্টিভ জবসের হুমকির মুখেও ড্রু হিউস্টন মাথা নত করেননি। নিজের আইনি এবং ভিশনের ওপর তার ছিল অটুট বিশ্বাস।

বর্তমান অবস্থান: আজ ড্রপবক্সের বাজারমূল্য ৯ বিলিয়ন ডলারেরও বেশি।

ইউজার বেস: সারা বিশ্বে প্রায় ৭০ কোটি মানুষ এখন এটি ব্যবহার করছেন।

বিপ্লব: যে পেনড্রাইভ হারিয়ে ড্রু রেগে গিয়েছিলেন, আজ সেই পেনড্রাইভ ইন্ডাস্ট্রিকেই প্রায় বিলুপ্তির পথে ঠেলে দিয়েছে ড্রপবক্স।

১. সমস্যাই সম্ভাবনার পথ: জীবনের ছোটখাটো সমস্যা বা 'প্যারা' থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেবেন না। আপনার সবচেয়ে বড় আইডিয়াটি হয়তো সেখানেই লুকিয়ে আছে।
