Buffalo darting: Day 1 🐃💉

Last year, we had the incredible opportunity to take part in a buffalo darting operation and get hands-on experience with wildlife conservation in action. Together with the team, we helped collect blood samples and test for diseases, an important part of monitoring buffalo health and managing wildlife populations. An unforgettable day in the bush and a chance to learn far beyond the classroom. Wish i could do it again! 🌿🦠

When two passions become one 🫶🏼

I couldn’t imagine a life without being creative. I spent countless hours drawing wildlife stories, animal portraits, illustrations, and posters, always finding ways to combine my two biggest passions.

When I started my Field Guiding course at Bushwise, I never imagined it would open so many doors. During my internship, I had the opportunity to take those childhood dreams one step further. ✨

For the first time, I wasn’t just surrounded by wildlife. I was able to tell its stories, not only through illustrations, but also photography, interviews, videos, and social media and discovered that creativity doesn’t have to stay in a studio. It can live in the bush! 🦓

Combining storytelling with conservation, creativity with adventure, and art with wildlife has always been my dream.

And the best part? It feels like this is only the beginning. 🙏🏼

The African Hoopoe 🧡🪶

One of the most eye-catching birds in the bush with its striking crest, bold black-and-white wings, and curved beak. Watching them during my course in South Africa, was always such a cool sight!

Fun fact: African Hoopoes use their long curved beaks to dig insects and larvae out of the soil 🌿
