Yesterday I had the privilege of watching my friend Liz stand in front of a room filled with incredible woman and share her Breast Cancer journey with us. Watching her share in such an authentic and inspiring way was pretty darn cool. It takes courage to stand up and share anything, let alone your journey through something that wasn’t something you wanted to journey through.

I’m so proud of you Liz! You aren’t just a survivor, you are a light this world needs. Thank you for your honesty and boldness and your commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. 🦄🩷✨

I am also grateful to have had the opportunity to tour the Breast Cancer Research lab at Brandon University it’s outstanding the work that is being done there and to see the passion and dedication the research team has was incredible.

The lab, under the direction of Dr. Majumder, is doing important research in 3 areas:
1. Finding a blood test to detect breast cancer.
2. Improving treatment outcomes for drug resistant breast cancer.
3. Reduce toxicity of treatments for triple negative breast cancer.

The Waves of Hope Dragonboat Team is doing a fundraising campaign to support this research and if you feel called to donate, please do so! 🩷
