This Piece Is Called “The Cliffs of Baccalieu”

“The Cliffs Of Baccalieu” was a song written by Jack Withers a Newfoundland Writer and Broadcaster, it was was wrote for a series called “The Adventures of the Irene B. Mellon” which aired on VOGY, VONF and VOCM, which Jack also Wrote, it was a Popular Program Which Combined Adventure Fiction with live performances of Newfoundland and Irish music. it Holds the record for running longer then any similar series in Newfoundland broadcasting, this Series ran on a rotation from 1934-1941, This Piece is dedicated to the hard working Journalists in Newfoundland and Labrador everyday that brings local music and live performances to our local airways cause without them local music would never be played, this Piece is also dedicated to the family of the Late Jack Withers (1899-1964). May he rest in piece.
