Proudly introducing the new brand identity for BertaBurritos, a Latin American restaurant and food trailer located in the heart of Drumheller, Alberta.
A brand rooted in heritage, BertaBurritos came to me at an important juncture.
Their successful food trailer had been offered an incredible opportunity: to become the culinary provider at Drum Distilling Co., a well-known and beloved distillery in downtown Drumheller.
But to bring the brand up to speed and make it feel like it actually belonged, there was work to be done.
The business had already built something special. An incredible menu, a strong customer experience, and a loyal following. But the identity itself hadn’t quite caught up.
So, we started by developing a brand strategy that made sense. A strategy rooted in story.
The restaurant had roots in Venezuela. Family, recipes, and culture.
But their journey led them to Alberta. The place they now call home.
So naturally, the identity became a meeting place between two homes.
Western hospitality meets Venezuelan roots.
From there, I developed a visual language that felt at home in both worlds.
Tactile topographical textures, grainy wet-plate imagery, cattle-brand shaped iconography, and illustrations with just a hint of roughness gave the brand its Western character, while soft-spoken language brought out its hospitable personality.
The result was an identity that felt right for BertaBurritos.
One that felt equally at home on the curbside or inside the restaurant, without losing what made the business special in the first place.
BertaBurritos now had a brand that could carry its story forward, no matter where the journey takes them.
