Every night after supper I take a walk around Doodletown. There are always quite a few kitty friends to catch up with and I plan a route so that I may see as many as possible. Some kitties are friendly and come running for love, some keep their distance with curious eyes, while others can’t be bothered. Then there are the crazy cats that I’ll never understand. I feel like cats know something we don’t. Are you a cat person?

A cool autumn breeze
The smell of maple leaves
Dark shadows and golden light
It’s Halloween night

With friends from my street
We gather and meet
We all climb the stairs
We shout trick or treat

The moon full and bright
Laughing with delight
I can feel my heart swell
As I ring the doorbell

And although I’m much older
When the weather gets colder
These memories I’ve shared
Return undeclared
