Holiday hours update

I have never posted anything like this before. I’ve written and rewritten this many times over the years on many occasions and regarding many businesses unfortunately and always decided it wasn’t worth posting. After an extended period of silence and no resolution, I believe it’s now important to share my experience so others can make informed decisions.

I completed work under a business agreement that was never paid for Haley Andrews under the title of H&R Block.
In addition, I also carried out separate work for Haley Andrews on a personal basis, which likewise remains unpaid. Despite numerous attempts to resolve both matters privately, there has been no follow up or resolution.

The individual I dealt with directly was Haley, who was the office administrator at the time and likely still is. When I eventually did receive a response, I was told there was new ownership. That explanation does not change the fact that the work was completed, the balances were known, and no payment was made.

A change in ownership does not erase outstanding obligations assumed as part of a business transfer. More importantly, Haley was aware of the unpaid balances before the ownership change and took no steps to resolve them then, nor afterward. Communication stopped entirely despite repeated attempts on my end.

I contacted her multiple times by phone and in person, including visiting the office, leaving my contact information, and requesting follow-up. None was provided.

We are a small, local business. We have real obligations bills, employees, and operating costs and those do not pause when someone decides not to communicate or honor commitments. For local people and a local establishment to treat a small business this way goes beyond unprofessional. It is deeply disrespectful.

This post is not a threat or an attack. It is about transparency. People often warn others online about contractors or service providers, but you rarely see small businesses openly share experiences like this. That imbalance allows this kind of behaviour to continue.

I’m sharing this now to be clear that this situation was real, unresolved, and entirely avoidable with basic communication and accountability.
