Gearingo Update
As a retired engineer, I take pride in every unit I build. Unfortunately, a critical component shortage has temporarily halted production. I expect to have the next small batch ready in the next few months. Please email me at [email protected] to be placed on the notification list or just to say hello!

An update to the update. I do not know when I will be making these again, so you should consider them discontinued.

Important Shipping Update for US Customers 🇺🇸

Due to recent changes in US import regulations regarding duties on low-cost items, I’ve had to make the difficult decision to suspend shipments to the United States for the time being.

These new rules introduce complexities that disrupt my streamlined international shipping system, making it no longer viable to serve US customers as I have in the past.

The irony here is that the main circuit board inside the gear indicators were assembled in the US, with electronic components sourced within the US. The circuit boards will be assembled elsewhere in the future.

I truly appreciate the support from my US customers over the years, and I hope to find a workable solution in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

Why a Gear Indicator is a Useful Accessory for your Motorcycle

Riding a motorcycle is an exhilarating experience, but it comes with its own set of challenges. One of the most important aspects of riding a motorcycle is gear shifting. Knowing which gear you're in is crucial for both performance and safety. That's where gear indicators come in.

Gear indicators are devices that show the current gear of your motorcycle. They can be electronic or mechanical, and they display the gear number on your dashboard or handlebar. Here are some reasons why having a gear indicator can be beneficial:

Improved Safety
Knowing which gear you're in can help you make better decisions while riding. For instance, if you're in a higher gear than you realize, you may not be able to accelerate quickly enough to avoid an obstacle. Similarly, if you're in a lower gear, you might not be able to slow down as quickly as you need to. A gear indicator can help you stay aware of your current gear, allowing you to make more informed decisions while riding.

Extended Engine Life
When you ride a motorcycle in the wrong gear, it can put unnecessary stress on your engine. For instance, if you're in a high gear and trying to accelerate quickly, you may be putting more strain on your engine than necessary. Over time, this can lead to premature wear and tear, reducing the life of your engine. By using a gear indicator, you can avoid putting unnecessary strain on your engine, potentially extending its life.

Improved Fuel Efficiency
Riding a motorcycle in the wrong gear can also lead to decreased fuel efficiency. If you're in too high of a gear, your engine may be working harder than necessary, burning more fuel than it needs to. Conversely, if you're in too low of a gear, your engine may be revving too high, also burning more fuel than necessary. By using a gear indicator, you can find the most fuel-efficient gear for your motorcycle, potentially saving you money on gas.

Convenience
Finally, a gear indicator can simply make your life easier. It can be hard to keep track of which gear you're in, especially if you're new to riding or on an unfamiliar motorcycle. A gear indicator takes the guesswork out of gear shifting, allowing you to focus on the road ahead.

In conclusion, gear indicators are an essential tool for any motorcycle rider. They improve safety, extend engine life, increase fuel efficiency, and make your life easier. If you're in the market for a motorcycle or are considering upgrading your current ride, be sure to look for a model with a gear indicator.

A gear indicator is a great addition to your Triumph bike. With a quick glance at the display, it gives you the assurance that you're in the correct gear either when you're constantly shifting up and down on a winding road, or when you're shifting down to stop or turn at a light. It's a small and simple accessory, easy to install, and one that makes riding that much more enjoyable. Once you try it, I'm sure you won't want to ride without it.

I received the raw videos for two demo rides that Rob Callaway in the UK had produced: they look great, and I will be using them on this site and on the web page. Here is a great snap from one of the videos.
