At the suggestion of many, I got a snake plant and I HIGHLY recommend it to my fellow black-thumbed plant lovers! Basically, this guy thrives on neglect so it’s a match made in heaven. 😂 Plus, it purifies the air, win-win!

Soooooo I wimped out of the market cause of the rain and it turned out to not be that bad, oops! I’ll grow a thicker Haida Gwaii skin for next time but meanwhile, here are the new goodies I would have had with me!

Something you should know about Texans, we loooooooooove anything in our great state’s shape! Waffles, art, swimming pools, you name it! Haida Gwaii is so unique as well that I figured it deserved to be cut too and I’m sure glad I did. 🖤

I started with the simple cutouts and then couldn’t possibly let the outlines just be scrapped so I made some layered pieces. I think it worked well with my love of painting pine trees to boot! Do you agree?

I wanted to share my favorite piece that sold at the market yesterday, this gorgeous octopus! He was admired from afar by another vendor and finally at the end she came up and said “Okay, I HAVE to have him!” 🖤

Time for the mind and body to have a rest! I’m always buzzing with ideas but I’m also getting very good at understanding when I need a break to relax, rejuvenate and refocus. I want to always love what I’m doing and preventing a burnout is key there. At this time it will also included stepping away from social media for a bit and putting my Etsy shop in vacation mode. 🖤

I’m also going to be doing my material ordering for some new projects as well as the wait list items (wall sized division maps & personalized RCMP crest magnets). I’m so excited to start making them!

Y’all, I’m so excited with how this piece came together! I thought it was about time to combine some of the skills and art styles I’ve been working at but I was really unsure if they would look good all combined. I’m glad I stuck with it!

Driftwood from my beach combing, stained glass hanging pieces with a laser etched accent; our home sweet Haida Gwaii!

I sometimes wish I could just pick one art and master it but, in the case of this piece, the collision of many is beautifully unique. 🖤
