Our team enjoyed our time this summer at Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub.

We hope all the racers and volunteers who participated in teh Amazing Race for Hunger enjoyed the packages we assembled. The Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub sure knows how to organize impactful events and we appreciated the ability to participate in a small way.

Last week, Robin Busby reached out to several of our RM customers to share an upcoming enhancement to our Road Maintenance Add-On. 💫

The update will give RMs greater flexibility when completing maintenance entries, with more options for recording employee time, equipment use, gravel and other related costs with the goal of creating greater efficiency.

We couldn't be more excited about the redevelopment happening with our platforms. This enhancement with our Road Maintenance Add-On is an example of why it is so important to have RM's engaged in providing us feedback to help guide our development and build tools that reflect the way municipal work is actually done.

Thank you to all of our engaged municipalities that continue to share ideas and help guide our development. Your input is helping us advance our goal of supporting stronger, more sustainable rural communities across Saskatchewan.

We launched the ability for RM's to run their annual permits through Permitraxx. This means RMs can run both their oil and gas permits, and their annual heavy haul permits now through a streamlined permitting process.

This permitting process helps both the RM, and the industry contacts. It is easily accessible and simple to manage creating consistency and clarity.

We know RMs have too much on their plate, our permitting platform is another way that we are supporting RMs and industry to find some time for other priorities.

Julia Lawrence, our Landowner Division Manager, and our longest-serving team member after Casey and Allison, recently returned from an awesome family adventure to the land Down Under!

We encouraged her to fully unplug, stay present and leave work behind while she was away. But apparently, she couldn't resist taking an interest in something connected to her husband Chris's line of work - an Aussie electrical panel. 😂🤣😂

YEEHAW!!!! It's Hardgrass Bronc Match time this weekend!

Due to vacation schedules and timing, our crew here at Welltraxx hit a snag and can't get to Pollockville on Saturday for the rip roaring good time at the Hardgrass Bronc Match.

We have six tickets to give away to the first person that says they can attend and can connect with our Medicine Hat office to pick them up.

Some of our crew were out this week volunteering at the Root Cellar Food and Wellness Hub. We will head back in August for another morning and we look forward to having more of the team there to support such a worthy organization.

Emily sees scheduling like a fun puzzle to solve.

They've been working behind the scenes to support our team and customers by pre-scheduling annual work we complete each year, including year-ends and recurring service work. And while much of this work doesn't start until January, we know how important strong capacity planning is and getting things into our schedules so nothing gets missed. It allows us to support our customers while also making sure our team is not placed in a position where there is too much work and too little time.

Behind every smooth year-end, service schedule and customer deliverable is thoughtful planning (or puzzle playing). Thanks Emily!

We shared lots of laughs during our annual team appreciation activity, along with a few good-natured groans from those who claim they "aren't creative", and by "those", we mostly mean Jason. 😂

The team gathered around the table at Creative Freedom Art Hub live out our company values every day. They show up ready to give their best for one another and for our customers, and we're grateful for our team of 15 who enjoy the work they do and the people they do it with.

A big thanks to our Culture Committee for organizing a fun afternoon.

When it comes to road maintenance, RMs know numbers matter.

At this year’s SARM Convention, resolutions highlighted a key challenge with Road Maintenance Agreements that current road haul fees often don’t reflect the true cost of maintaining & preserving municipal infrastructure.

With rising costs tied to inflation, materials & increased heavy haul activity, RMs are being asked to maintain service levels without compensation that fully reflects:
- Actual road wear and loss of road life
- Ongoing maintenance and restoration costs
- The long-term impact of heavy traffic on rural infrastructure

These resolutions call for more accurate & regularly updated approaches to determining road haul fees whether through annual reviews or engineering-based cost assessments.

While provincial formulas aim to create consistency, RMs still face the day-to-day reality of tracking road usage & the maintenance needs of those roads. That’s where better data becomes essential.

- Track road conditions and maintenance activities over time
- Capture real-world data to support RMA discussions
- Identify high-impact haul routes and prioritize maintenance
- Strengthen long-term planning and infrastructure sustainability
