May is Syringomyelia Awareness Month 💙
Syringomyelia is a rare neurological condition, and no two individuals living with it are the same. Each person experiences their own unique combination of symptoms, severity, limitations, and daily challenges.

For many of us, the hardest part is that this condition is still unfamiliar to so many people. At times, I have encountered healthcare and emergency professionals who were not familiar with Syringomyelia. I say that not with blame, because they are only human and rare conditions are not always widely understood, but to highlight exactly why education and awareness matter so much.

Greater awareness can lead to better recognition, more informed care, safer support, and more compassion for those living with this often invisible and debilitating disorder.

Rare does not mean less serious.
Invisible does not mean less real.

This month, I encourage you to take a moment to learn, share, and help spread awareness for Syringomyelia. 💙

Hi everyone, 🥰
If you’ve been following Resilient Roots, you know I’ve built this space around supporting others, showing up where I can, and trying to create something meaningful from where I am.

Right now, I’m in a competition that could genuinely change a lot for me. I don’t say that lightly things have been really difficult lately behind the scenes, and I’ve been doing my best to keep going and keep building community through it all.

This opportunity isn’t just about a title or a trip. It represents a real chance to shift the direction of my life in a way I haven’t had access to before.

And the truth is, a free daily vote from you is what keeps me in this running.

If you’ve ever supported my work, shared my posts, or believed in what Resilient Roots stands for, this is one of the biggest ways you can support me right now!!

✨ You can vote through the link in my bio (it’s free and you can vote daily.) Every single vote genuinely helps more than you know!!🥹🥹

This is the first feature in my monthly Business Card series.😁

If you ever bump into me at an event, in the community, or on my travels and hand me your business card, there’s a chance it might get featured here.

I’m always given business cards, and I used to feel bad throwing them out… so they would end up sitting in my purses and random places for way longer than they should 🤣🥹

Instead of letting them go to waste, I want to turn it into something meaningful…. a monthly feature where I highlight one business, nonprofit, or grassroots organization I’ve connected with in real life.

A simple way to support, share their work, and help build community visibility 🥰

So if you see me out and about, don’t be shy 😏 hand me your business card you might be next.

This month’s feature:
Zia Sial
Mortgage Agent Level 1
Mortgage Squad Advisors

On my travels, I meet so many incredible people passionate business owners, grassroots organizations, and charities that truly care about their communities. 💛

Since 2020, I’ve been supporting grassroots initiatives, charities, and small businesses free of charge through Resilient Roots. I’ve never made a profit from it because it has always been about building community, creating connections, and uplifting others in meaningful ways.

I learned so much about building community during my time volunteering with Carolyn Marie Goodwin, the founder of Uplifting Blessings. Although the organization had to temporarily close in December 2024, the experience taught me so many life lessons about compassion, leadership, and showing up for people in their hardest moments. I will always be truly grateful for her and the impact she made on my journey!!

With the economic challenges so many of us are facing right now (myself included), I want to continue using my small platform to amplify both businesses and community organizations that deserve to be seen and supported. Supporting each other right now matters more than ever.

To make this even more impactful, I’m starting a monthly business card feature, where I highlight one person, business or organization I’ve connected with along my travels and share their story on my platform.

Stay tuned for April’s featured business coming soon!!!

Hey everyone 🤍

A while back I was tagged in a post by , and it really stayed with me. I felt called to create and share something of my own to help spread Megan’s story.

I don’t usually post GoFundMe links, and I’m not in a position to donate right now but I know the power of community, and sometimes simply sharing can reach the right person at the right time.

Megan is just 16 years old. Before everything, she was an active, passionate runner. In February 2025, her life changed overnight after a severe brain injury left her fighting for her life. She survived but now faces the long and incredibly difficult road of recovery.

After 11 months in the hospital, she is finally home. Right now, Megan is relearning how to walk, talk, read, and regain her memory things most of us don’t think twice about. She is also navigating life in a wheelchair, which has impacted both her and her family.

The therapies she needs speech, physiotherapy, and more are intensive and ongoing. On top of that, her home needs to be adapted to support her new reality. Her parents are doing everything they can, even taking time away from work to care for Megan and her younger sister, but the financial strain is heavy.

Her friend Harley started this fundraiser, and I think that speaks volumes about the kind of love and support surrounding Megan.

I’m sharing this with full permission from her family. If you feel it in your heart and are in a position to help, please consider donating. And if you can’t, sharing this post or simply sending love and good thoughts truly matters more than you know.

Let’s show Megan and her family they’re not alone 🤍

To anyone celebrating with full hearts, and to anyone getting through the day quietly.
To anyone missing someone at the table.
To anyone carrying grief, holding on to memories instead of moments.
To anyone facing financial hardship, illness, or just a really heavy season.
To anyone who feels alone, unseen, or far from where they wish they were.
You matter. Your story matters.
And even in the hard moments, you are not forgotten.
Wishing you peace, comfort, and a little bit of light today. 🕊️✨💕

🌿✨🐣 Happy Easter from Resilient Roots 🐣✨🌿

To those who celebrate, we hope this Easter brings you moments of peace, connection, and renewal.

If you’re able to, spend time with your family and loved ones. Share a meal, share a laugh, and hold space for the people who matter most. These moments are never guaranteed and they mean more than we sometimes realize.

This Easter is also a gentle reminder to extend love and grace to those who may be struggling. Not everyone has a full table, a safe home, or someone to celebrate with. A kind message, a check-in, or even a small act of compassion can make a bigger difference than you think.

Please take a moment to check on your neighbours especially elderly individuals, disabled community members, and those living alone and make sure they have what they need while stores are closed. Community care is one of the most powerful forms of kindness we can offer!!!

Easter is a season of renewal, forgiveness, and hope.
A time to let go of resentment, practice compassion, and renew our faith that good people still exist in this world. Because they do and kindness still grows in quiet, everyday ways!!! ✨🥹💜

From Resilient Roots, we wish you a peaceful and meaningful Easter filled with love, grace, and community.

So grateful for everyone who’s taken the time to colour cards for this project 💛 ✨🙏This weekend I’ll be filling them in and getting them ready to pass along to another amazing organization doing good in the community.

It truly means so much to see people come together for something so simple… yet so impactful.

PS: if you have a quick moment, I’d really appreciate your support. I’m currently sitting in 3rd place in the contest and there’s a chance to win a trip to the Bahamas annnd $25K, which would honestly make a huge difference for me!!🥹🥹(currently as it stands, OHIP gives me six free infusions for the year, but if I were to win this, I wouldn’t have to space them out and suffer. Currently, what’s been happening my pain gets so bad because I avoid going until it’s way overdue for one and then I’m tackling pain on top of pain. And when you deal with stress, it essentially wipes away all of your efforts managing your pain.

So this project in a way helps me connect with a community and feel a bit of happiness because I know it helps others and in return it also helps me.

Thank you for being part of this journey in any way, big or small!!!🥰 💫
