Dear valued customers,

We are happy to announce that our Internet service running on Bell infrastructure has been fully restored at 7:25 AM this morning. Our technical team have checked and confirmed that all the service components are back to work like normal and Internet services for our customers have been fully restored.

We would like to thank the Bell technical team, who are working along side and around the clock with us. We would like to thank our customers' understanding and cooperation. We are sorry for this inconvenience and we will work to revise and refine our process to prevent any kind of this outage from happening in the future.

Dear valued customers,

First, we are terribly sorry for the outage with our DSL customers.

Second, starting from the day before yesterday, we are moving our customers to other infrastructure, such as Rogers or Cogeco in Ontario and Videotron in Quebec. We are also distributing 4G LTE router as a temporary solution for customers where other infrastructures is not available.

At this time (9:00 AM, Sept 12), we are at the final steps with Bell to reactivate the disconnected circuit. This is a final administrative push and we expect it to happen at any moment.

If you call our office and do not get a hold of us or a call back, please understand that we are either in meeting or on call with Bell representative or we are working on a solution to resume your service as fast as we can. We will call you to arrange a temporary solution, to move you to another network infrastructure or to inform you that the service is resumed to normal.

Service outage affecting Customers using Bell infrastructure

At 06:35 AM, Sept. 08th, 2025, our DSL Internet service started experiencing an outage, affecting all of our Customers, who are using Bell infrastructure. The cause is in the fiber optic cables connecting our Data Center and Bell Data Center.

Bell technical team and our technical team are working around the clock together in order to identify the issue and to perform the repair.

At 13:35 AM, Sept. 08th, the issue has been identified and the repair started. Early this morning, Sept. 10th, the physical fiber optic cable is in good condition and we are waiting for the technical team from Bell to resume our service.

Our Customers using Rogers and Videotron infrastructure are not affected by this outage.

Our Customers using HD-WAN service for Business are not affected by this outage.

We will provide the updates as long as we get it from Bell and are expecting to resume the service as soon as possible.

We are very sorry and we will work with our Bell partner closely to guarantee that this type of outage will not happen again.

At 6:05 AM, Aug. 26, 2025, the outage has been fixed and our service has been resumed. If you are using HD Telecom Internet service on Bell's infrastructure, and your service has not been resumed by itself, please turn off your modem, wait for 15 minutes before turning it back on.

Starting from around 17:43 today, Aug. 25, 2025, HD Telecom are experiencing a service outage, happening to our Internet customers using Bell infrastructure. All of our customers using DSL internet over Bell copper infrastructure are being affected and have Internet service disruption.

Bell is informed and aware of this issue. We are working and monitoring closely the situation and will provide updates to our customers when it becomes available to us. Due to the complication of the issue, it is expected to take long time for Bell to perform the repair. If you have planned your activities tonight and probably tomorrow morning, which requires Internet service, please arrange a backup measure instead of relying on our Internet service. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.

In the mean time, our customers using Internet service over Rogers infrastructure and Bell's Fiber optic, and customers using our HD WAN service are not affected by this outage.

This morning, May 21st, 2025, at around 9:05 AM, Bell Canada is experiencing an outage in their network, causing interruption to Internet services to both Bell's customers and other providers' customers using Bell infrastructure in Ontario and Quebec.

HD Telecom's customers using Bell Canada's infrastructure will be affected by this outage while our customers using Rogers infrastructure or the HDWAN service (high-availability Business Internet service) will not be affected by this outage.

Due to the severe snow storm, there are internet service outages happening in parts of Ontario and Quebec. If you are experiencing issues with your internet connection, please contact us by phone (905-601-4343), email ([email protected]) and Facebook so we will be able to assist you. Currently North York, Cobourg and parts of Mississauga are heavily affected by these outages.

Rogers Outages:

Currently there are light outages with Rogers systems affecting Cell phone and internet services in GTA. We are not sure about other locations outside GTA.

If you are using Fido and Rogers cell phone, you probably cannot make phone calls to numbers in some other networks. Calling between Rogers and Fido customers are fine for the moment.

Some customer also experience internet service interruption or outage.

We are monitoring this outage and will provide updates when we receive it.

Update:
As of 1:00 AM July 09, 2022, the Rogers cell phone and Internet services are gradually resuming. As a result, we observe that most of (about 95%) HD Telecom's customers using Cable Internet service have their service resumed, while about 5% are still out of service.
We keep monitoring the situation and updates from Rogers and in the morning, we will contact our customers, who still experience cable internet service outage.

Starting from 4 AM this morning July 08, 2022, Rogers is having a nation wide outage with all of their service: Internet, Cell phone, Phone and TV.

HD Telecom's customers using Cable Internet on Rogers network will be affected by this outage.

So, if you are HD Telecom's customers and using Cable Internet in Ontario and is not having Internet service right now, please follow this post and this page for more updates. We will post more updates as we are updated by Rogers.

Our technical team is monitoring the situation closely and will react accordingly to Rogers updates to minimize the down time for our customers.
