My go-to response with difficulty is to make it light. Tell a joke. Get past the tough stuff with a smile.

"DUC IS MAKING A SPLASH!" Was, and still is, what I want to share.

Still, I've stalled. I haven't been confident in how to say something this huge that I have been wanting to share with everyone.

Part of me isn't convinced many would be interested. Part of me is worried about judgement or speculation about ending one thing to pursue another. However, these are not the parts of me that have busted my back to prove myself. To learn, grow, and excel enough to be considered for a leadership position within an established, successful, and talented team.

I did it. I was asked to become the Creative Director at Splash Media Group and I said YES! and I am so grateful for my years running DUC. For those I worked with, for those that worked with me. For the clients, even the ones I failed. Especially the ones I failed. For those that understood my choice to raise a family, and those that understood my passion to keep working while I did.

For my husband, my partner, my other piece. We have a big chapter ahead and you have made it so easy to just say yes.

Thank you DUC, thank you Prince George. I look forward to Telling Stories and Making Stuff with a bigger team and more resources. Thank you for seeing me.

We are also looking for a large kitchen table.

Someone on our page said PG is "a healthy mix of hippy, redneck, country, metal, introverts, extroverts, artistic, political savvy, rural, city, outdoorsy, and creative types." Does that sound right to you? A bit tricky to put on a street banner or recruitment ad though!

As creatives, talent is something heavily ingrained in our identity. Comparing or not valuing our own work, perfectionism, overcompensation- it can be exhausting!

So what is it exactly?

Well, Webster Dictionary defines it as “a psychological condition that is characterized by persistent doubt concerning one's abilities or accomplishments accompanied by the fear of being exposed as a fraud despite evidence of one's ongoing success”.

It isn’t rare, in fact 70% of people report having felt like an imposter at some point. On top of that, millennials from ages 26-41 battle imposter syndrome at a higher rate than the rest of the population.

You might be wondering how we can overcome imposter syndrome? Well we are too, but luckily we found some tips that might be helpful!

The importance of sharing our path with others isn't to spare them from making mistakes, but to offer comfort in the knowledge that they are not alone while making them.

It always amazes me how many problems can be solved or fresh ideas formed when we are open to new conversation.
We all have stories to share and messages we need to hear.
