This is truly inspiring.
I love what Brenden Gramer and Amazon have accomplished here. Creating an atmosphere of inclusivity and acceptance in the workplace is just so important and I feel like I know a bit about that.
This is a big post for me. I’m a person who has lived with hearing loss for my entire adult life thus far. While my hearing loss is manageable, it has also been a struggle. As a means of self-protection, I have rarely been forthcoming about it because it truly makes me feel vulnerable. Which is totally ridiculous when you think about it! I never knew what I was missing in my interactions with others. It has affected me in so many life situations and obviously so in the workplace. I could have saved myself so much anxiety if I had owned it early on — however, baby steps! It continues to be a learning curve for me — but also knowing I was supported in my work environment would have allowed me greater confidence to excel and above all, to be myself. So, I for one am glad the world is opening up to accessibility for so many. May doors keep opening for all.
