Entro

Entro Entro is an experiential design firm with global, interdisciplinary design expertise. Entro uses design to connect people to place.

Our practice is built on an avant-garde design philosophy grounded by the science of human interactions and the belief that everyday experiences should be inspirational. We call on design to fuel a dialogue between users and the spaces they inhabit – from hospitals and transit hubs to museums, arts facilities, corporate and educational campuses, and throughout cities. Our work gives places identit

y and meaning; it makes complex places navigable; it reveals the history behind new places. We create design that is both practical and beautiful, and we look ahead to the future, anticipating trends and developments. We believe graphics and media can be used to enhance spaces, guide visitors in an intuitive way, create a powerful sense of place and have a profound effect on the way we connect with places in our everyday life. We offer design services in wayfinding, signage, environmental graphics, exhibit design, branding and media architecture. Our interdisciplinary team brings together expertise in architecture, graphic design, media, fine arts, industrial design, engineering, planning and project management.

This year, Entro sponsored . Their programming began in March with an “Un-x-conference” that brought together 60+ designers for discussion and ideation about better futures through design. Different than traditional conferences, attendees decided the program and outcomes upon arrival and led sessions throughout the day.

The program continued through April, with , Entro’s Chief Creative Officer, leading a workshop for more than 100 participants on designers’ personal brands.

an Op-Ed by Chief Creative Officer, Hunter Tura >> “We have entered what might be understood as the “new experiential age”. In this era, mobility is no longer understood as movement alone, but as a real-time, adaptive system—one that integrates data, artificial intelligence (AI), behavioral insight and spatial design to make complexity legible, humane and efficient. Transportation systems are becoming dynamic environments that sense, respond and evolve alongside the people who use them.”

Today Dr Vedran Dzebic, Research Director of Entro, is speaking at the AIA Los Angeles Technology Conference.

The full-day, expert-led conference will examine the evolving role of artificial intelligence in architectural practice, with a focus on resilience, climate response, and ethical innovation. The program explores how architects are leveraging emerging technologies to design better.

Vedran’s session was selected for its timely and forward-thinking contribution to the design community, introducing neuroscience-driven methodologies and technologies that expand how architects and designers evaluate and validate design outcomes prior to construction, and assess built environments.

This presentation is happening just after Entro’s release of ‘Designing with Intelligence’ earlier this week. This white paper introduces an evidence-based framework for smarter, more intuitive wayfinding and experiential environments.

As the complexity of designing environments continues to increase, traditional design approaches alone are no longer sufficient. ‘Designing with Intelligence’ outlines Entro’s integrated, proprietary methodology for understanding human behavior, perception, and decision-making in space— with data-informed tools to complement design intuition and improve user experience.

“Our mission is to author a new experiential age. We are developing and harnessing technologies that transform how we experience space—and each other. We are data-led, results-driven, and ROI obsessed and constantly asking ourselves, ‘How can we make this better?’” says Entro’s CEO, John Campanella.

Entro’s unique methodology brings objective data to inform design decisions. These technologies are particularly useful in large-scale, complex environments, such as airports, transit systems, sports venues, and mixed-use developments.

“Designing with Intelligence underscores Entro’s commitment to advancing experiential design through rigorous research, emerging technology, and human-centered thinking, ensuring that environments are not only visually compelling, but intuitively navigable and considerate of peoples’ experiences,” said Dr. Vedran Dzebic, Research Director, Entro. “Ultimately, we design experiences for people, so our work must be grounded in how they actually move, perceive, decide, and feel within a space.”

These tools uniquely position Entro to move beyond just observation, surveys and focus groups, toward predictive, evidence-based design strategies that improve clarity, reduce stress, and enhance engagement across leading global brands and complex environments.

The Eglinton Crosstown LRT is now officially open! This week thousands of people in Toronto are celebrating the opening of the much anticipated Eglinton Crosstown LRT. With people lining up over the weekend to be amongst the first riders of Line 5, it is clear this infrastructure will be invaluable to the City.

Our team led the early preliminary design of the signage and wayfinding standards, establishing the foundation for a clear, cohesive passenger experience. As part of the Crosslinx team, alongside architects, engineers, planners, designers, and countless specialists, we established the wayfinding system across all ECLRT stations from schematic design through to implementation.

Congratulations to all the firms and people who have been involved in this project over the years. It has been quite the 15-year endeavour and we are proud to have contributed to this impactful project.

Entro brings deep experience delivering wayfinding and passenger experience strategies for large, complex transit systems. In addition to the TTC, we have worked with SEPTA, DART, WMATA, and Metra. Our data-driven approach leverages technology and research to gain passenger insights to measurably improve navigation and overall rider experience.

Design thrives when emerging voices are supported and given space to be seen.

This year, our involvement with centred on supporting the DesignTO Youth Program, helping connect young creatives with designers, artists, and cultural organizations through mentorship, hands on learning, and public exhibition. We also opened our Harbourfront Centre windows to host min/max, a public installation by Montreal based textile designer , bringing design into the everyday cityscape.

Supporting the next generation of designers and making space for public facing design are essential to building a resilient and inclusive design culture in Toronto.

Entro is at the Interior Design Show (IDS)! IDS marks one of the first major industry events for Toronto after the holidays, bringing the design community together for education, connection, and celebration.

This year our team offered two talks. Research Director Vedran Dzebic and Technology and Research Coordinator Adam Francey presented on how technologies and data are being applied to deepen designers’ understanding of how people respond to built environments. From brainwave monitoring to eye-tracking analysis to pedestrian flow and Space Syntax, they illustrated how data are being leveraged to assess and validate design decisions across sectors.

Russell Pollard, MBA 🏳️‍🌈, along with Nina Boccia of KPMB Architects and Valerie Gow of Gow Hastings Architects, presented on business development, offering insights and lessons learned to folks. The session was balanced to reflect different roles people may have as business developers, whether being seller-doers or leading a team. The emphasis of brand, relationships, and community were common threads between each speaker.

IDS is always a great way to start the year - looking forward to Day Two!
