Before passengers take their first journey through Western Sydney International Airport, we had to imagine how they would think, feel and move through it.

Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) is Australia’s first major international greenfield airport in more than 50 years and Sydney’s only 24-hour airport.

Entro was engaged to develop a comprehensive wayfinding strategy that would support intuitive journeys, accessibility, operational efficiency, and a strong sense of place.

We leveraged our unique approach, combining human behaviour, neuroscience and emotion with creativity and design, informed by our experience across a portfolio of 30+ airports worldwide, including Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Minneapolis–Saint Paul (MSP), Washington Dulles (IAD), and Changi (SIN).

More than a navigation system, the project positions Western Sydney International Airport as a welcoming, future-ready gateway to and from Australia, demonstrating how experiential design can create clarity, confidence, and a memorable, world-class environment.

The airport will welcome passengers this autumn.

In “The Next Performance Metric—Human Experience in the Built Environment,” Entro Research Director Vedran Dzebic, PhD explores a question that is becoming increasingly important for designers: If we can measure how a building performs, why aren’t we measuring how people experience it?

The article looks at how behavioural science, neuroscience, spatial analytics and AI can help us understand how environments influence the way people think, feel and behave—turning human experience into something that can be measured, tested and improved.

From eye-tracking and pedestrian simulation to EEG and EntroAQ, these methods offer designers new ways to test assumptions and make more informed, human-centred design decisions. Examples from Entro’s work at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and MKE - Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport are featured.

The Calgary Central Library is both a literal and metaphorical representation of the community’s multifaceted nature. Designed by Snøhetta and DIALOG , the interlocking hexagons of its façade can combine to create endless forms and images, while the building itself houses services for everyone across the community.

Entro’s solution creates a cohesive experience across the library and differentiates between each of its spaces and resources. The wayfinding program continues the use of the hexagonal shapes from the façade, creating continuity between the architectural design and navigation. Playful graphics encourage visitors of all ages to explore the library’s intuitive vertical orientation.

The program received SEGD Merit Award, Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award, and the Graphis Inc. Design Annual Silver Award.

The Whitney Museum of American Art, designed by RPBW Renzo Piano Building Workshop with Corgan (then Cooper Roberston), stands as a beacon of modern and contemporary American art in New York City’s Meatpacking District and West Village neighborhoods.

Entro was engaged to develop the museum’s identity, signage, wayfinding, donor recognition program, and digital display system across its nine floors and 220,000 square feet of space.

Our approach was to extend the Whitney Museum’s brand throughout the museum in subtle, identifiable ways that complement the architecture and the art collections, ensuring that the environment remains simple, elegant, and timeless.

Utilizing the Whitney’s “Responsive W,” we crafted a flexible typographic grid derived from the museum’s logo, shaping wayfinding graphics that blend modern aesthetics with timeless elegance.

Wildflower Studios is a 760,000 square-foot vertical film studio and soundstage in New York, designed by BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group for Robert De Niro and Adam I. Gordon. The facility supports simultaneous productions across a dense, multi-level environment with constant movement of people, vehicles, props, and equipment. Entro was brought on with Andrew Zuckerman to develop a wayfinding system that could keep production activity moving efficiently without adding visual noise or operational friction.

The completed wayfinding system supports navigation across a facility built around continuous production activity. Crew, talent, visitors, and logistics teams can move through the building efficiently, even as spaces shift and circulation patterns change

Entro is excited to welcome Conor Yakutchik, PMP to the team as Senior Project Manager!

Conor brings extensive experience delivering complex projects across retail, trade show, exhibition, and experiential environments. Before joining Entro, he managed projects on the fabricator side of the industry, giving him a strong understanding of how design is successfully realized in the built environment.

Our team recently collaborated with Conor on the Northumberland County Archives and Museum project. His portfolio also includes projects across Canada, from Calgary to Nunavut, demonstrating his ability to lead work in a wide range of environments and conditions.

As a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Conor excels at coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing complex project delivery, and keeping projects on track from concept through completion.

Women’s sport has reached a turning point. Record-breaking attendance, growing investment, and expanding professional leagues are changing the landscape, and the launch of the Toronto Tempo, Canada’s first WNBA franchise, is one of the most significant milestones yet.

We’re proud to have contributed to this moment by designing the environmental graphics and experiential design for the Toronto Tempo’s new locker rooms at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Working alongside BBB Architects Toronto and an inspiring, predominantly women-led consultant team, we helped create a space that reflects the ambition of this historic franchise. More than a locker room, it’s an environment designed to energize, prepare, recover, and foster the culture of a team writing the next chapter of Canadian sport.

From the moment players arrive on game day, every detail reinforces the Tempo’s identity and provides a welcoming home for Canada’s newest professional team.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this milestone to life.
