GSE Steel software – Torsion and warping

GSE Steel considers restrained warping for the torsion of thin-wall open sections. Notice that this phenomenon is not included in most commonly used frame analysis programs.

It is important to note that the torsional stiffness of an open section is function of the warping end conditions as well as the location of the torsional load. Thus, the distribution of the forces in a structure having members resisting torsion may differ whether the «Consider Warping due to Torsion» option is enabled or disabled.

The soil-structure interaction is an important component in the design of a building or any structure in general.

To enhance productivity of GSE users, an automatic slab on grade generation function is available to generate and efficiently analyze slabs of complex geometries.

Users can perform complete analysis and design of slabs, while distributing the soil stiffness to the slabs modeled by finite elements.

GSE Structural Timber software - Fire resistance of wood elements

Looking to efficiently design and verify wood elements under fire conditions?

The resistance limit states, under fire conditions, are calculated for large cross-section wood elements in the GSE Timber software.

To enhance productivity of GSE users, cross-section elements are automatically reduced during the limit state checks.

The fire resistances of elements are verified according to the National Design Specification (NDS) and the CSA O86 standards.
