The Game Quarters soft opening / December Edition of Quarter Circle Punch Line Comedy where comedy and retro gaming meet was a great success! Thank to everyone who attended and all the amazing talents for providing the laughs! We're looking forward to the next one and we'll see you in January!

It's going to be hard to say good bye to the original Game Quarters location. All the memories we've created there, all the great people who've booked with us and dropped-in.

We have a few final bookings left here at old GQ, but we should be ready at the new spot next week. New spot in the same building and it's a really nice place. Can't wait to show you what we have and we're proud to be a part of the Commercial Drive community. Bringing people together through retro gaming, creativity, inspiration, and fun. We're hosting one of the last drop-in sessions here at Game Quarters this coming Wednesday! Come on down and enjoy the spot before we pack our stuff and move to our new location. We'll be opening our doors to the public at 7pm and going till late since it's a stat the next day.

Three years ago I went to an NHL 94 tournament and I met so many great people there. I didn't know there were so many people in the Vancouver area that loved an old sports video game that is now over 27 years old. I quickly learned that I wasn't as good at the game as I thought I was, but I loved the social aspect of getting together with like minded people to relive our favourite video games from our childhood. Two main people that have become close friends of mine are Francis and Waseem. Collectively, we became the Vancouver Community Retro Gaming Club aka VCRGC. We started hosting casual gameplay meetups around town, started hosting our own video game tournaments. It started to become a great way to meet new friends and network with people of common interests. The group kept getting bigger and bigger and then the pandemic happened.

We wanted to keep this movement going in a safe, welcoming, and fun environment. We often joked about having our own clubhouse, but that place became a reality hidden somewhere on Commercial Drive and it became Game Quarters. We put our resources and video game collections together. It's been quite the experience. Lots of good times, a few lows and challenges. We've been very fortunate to have some great support from lots of different people. GQ became more than the retro gaming hideout, but a place for art and community.

For those that know the place, you know of its faults and that's a part of it's appeal. That's why I'm proud to announce in the next few weeks, we're moving. Same secret location, but we're moving into a new spot in the building that is WAY nicer for everyone. We're going to continue to build on our vision of Game Quarters and that's number one being a fun and welcoming place for people to relive their favourite childhood video games like never before. It'll be a place that would be amazing for small scale get togethers, photoshoots, Twitch streaming, and podcasting.

This is the GQ that we've always envisioned and we can't wait to show you. Remaining bookings of course will be honoured. And we're offering a discount for weekday bookings at our current location. Inquire at linktr.ee/gamequarters 🎮🕹

Hi all. It's been a while, we've been insanely busy these last few weeks. We hope you and yours have have been well. We've been pretty swamped with bookings here at your favourite top secret retro gaming hideout located somewhere on Commercial Drive. But on the plus side the world around us is slowly starting to open up and that really has been keeping us busy outside of here.
