Before you build, understand why.

In many workplaces, people receive a task, say yes, and start building. But good ex*****on should begin with a few questions:
👉 What problem are we actually trying to solve?
👉 What will this change accomplish?
👉 Why is the current solution no longer good enough?
👉 Is what we are being asked to build actually the best solution?

Understanding the purpose behind a task can change how you approach it and sometimes even reveal a better solution.

From powering a global hackathon to being featured in Harvard Business Review.

Earlier this year, Sparta Capital collaborated with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Nanyang Business School) and ETH Zürich to develop an AI-integrated platform that powered the BUILD2GETHER AI–SDG Hackathon, supporting more than 2,000 participants across 500 teams. The platform gave different types of feedback from AI as the participants developed projects addressing UN SDGs.

The hackathon, organised in collaboration with our partners BUILD2GETHER, ETH Zürich, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Sairam Institutions, has now been featured in the Business Review article: https://hbr.org/2026/07/design-ai-systems-that-actually-strengthen-human-reasoning

What 400+ students taught us about building scalable platforms

For Mini BUILD2GETHER: AI Startup Evaluation 2026, Sparta Capital developed a platform designed to support the concurrent participation of more than 400 students.

The experience reinforced three important lessons:

✅ Plan for peak demand, not average usage
✅ Keep the user journey simple, especially when many users act at once
✅ Test reliability early, because performance matters most under pressure

Scalability is not only about supporting more users. It is about ensuring that every user receives a smooth and reliable experience.

Last week, we had the pleasure of seeing talented student innovators come together for Mini BUILD2GETHER: AI Startup Evaluation 2026.

The event created a valuable space for students to present startup ideas, receive feedback, and explore how AI can support impactful ventures.

To support the evaluation process, Sparta Capital developed the digital platform used during the event, designed to handle the concurrent participation of more than 400 students.

Proud to be part of this initiative alongside BUILD2GETHER, Cornell University, ETH Zürich, Berner Fachhochschule | Haute école spécialisée bernoise, and Sri Sairam Engineering College.

Last week, we came together for the Sparta Capital company dinner at Light House Galley.

We began with a brief presentation on the company’s current position and future outlook. It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on where we are doing well, discuss where we can improve, and align ourselves on the road ahead.

The evening was also a chance to connect with each other beyond day-to-day work, strengthen team spirit, and enjoy dinner together.

Moments like these remind us that building a company is not only about projects and progress. It is also about people, shared purpose, and growing together.
