💠Magenta & Cyan for Minami Convention💠
I have realized that not many people knew about it, and actually I was concerned about keeping it low profile during its development time, but I am the founder and head of Minami Convention, a small but lovingly made event in my hometown: Temuco.
I always wanted to do or be part of these kind of conventions , and although I offered to be staff at different events before starting Minami, I was never considered, so we decided with my sister and some friends to do our own convention.
That led, just for the fact of starting our project, to other groups being very cruel with us, criticizing everything we did, inventing false and destructive rumors, calling us "the event of the fat girls" and things like that, which, at least for me, was tremendously exhausting and it was very hard to cope with it hand in hand with a great depression and a toxic relationship full of mistreatment. Even so, the affection of people was so great, that we decided to continue with this project... and to this day I am grateful for it, because it's helping me to get through a very difficult time in my life at this moment.
This year, for the first time, I'm saying everyone that I am the organizer and CEO Minami convention, not to brag, but because I am healing some issues with my self-esteem and I think I should feel proud to be the creator and founder.
Words hurt and wound deeper than you think. Gossip and verbal abuse, for some reason, always reach the ears of the affected person. People are cruel and have no idea how much work it takes, how much time you invest in creating something out of nothing (a cosplay, an illustration, organizing a merchandise stand, a fan community, a show... A whole convention.). That's why we like so much to host the different areas of this event as best as humanly possible.
Excuse me for this catharsis, I felt it necessary at this time of life. If you had the patience to read this: thank you very much.
