Most people write a vague instruction, get a mediocre output, and blame the model.

But the model is doing exactly what you told it to do.

Here's what actually happens inside an LLM:

Not a historical figure. Not a projection.

Right now. In 2025.

According to the WHO, roughly 1 in 2 children aged 2–17 have experienced some form of violence or abuse in their lifetime. In the US alone, 532,228 children were confirmed victims of abuse and neglect in 2024 — and experts consistently agree that the real number is far higher because most cases are never reported.

Nearly two-thirds of them were under three years old.

Here is the statistic that stops me cold:

76% of abusers are a parent or legal guardian.

The most dangerous place for a child is often the one they call home.

The problem is getting harder to fight, not easier.

Online exploitation is rising sharply. Research shows that when online sexual abuse is factored in, the overall child sexual abuse prevalence rate jumps from 13.5% to 21.7% — a hidden epidemic running parallel to physical abuse.

Technology is gradually becoming part of the response.
