As the demand for safe and reliable lithium-ion batteries continues to grow in the new energy industry, advanced inspection technologies are becoming increasingly important. Our latest innovation introduces an ultrasonic-based non-destructive testing (NDT) solution designed specifically for internal safety evaluation of lithium batteries.

Unlike traditional electrochemical monitoring or X-ray inspection, ultrasonic technology can detect internal changes much earlier in the battery lifecycle—often within the first 10–50 charge/discharge cycles. By analyzing acoustic reflections and transmission characteristics, the system can reveal critical internal conditions such as electrolyte insufficiency, gas bubble formation, delamination, aging patterns, and foreign material contamination.

The integrated desktop intelligent inspection workstation combines air-coupled and immersion ultrasonic scanning modes with advanced data analysis software, enabling multiple imaging methods (A/B/C/sectional views). This allows engineers to visualize defect location, size, and material characteristics in real time, providing deeper insight into battery health and structural integrity.

With its non-destructive, in-situ detection capability, ultrasonic inspection offers a powerful new approach for early safety prediction, quality control, and R&D validation in lithium battery manufacturing.

Report: Test Results of 8 Mainstream Power Bank Cells Released

Our company has used high-resolution ultrasonic transmission detection technology to carry out the first round of ultrasonic non-destructive testing special action for power bank products of mainstream brands. Today, we announce the first batch of test results:

I. Classification of Test Results
1. Well-performing cells (2 pieces)
-Detection characteristics: Uniform acoustic wave transmission, no significant abnormalities found.
-Special note: The power banks composed of these two cells are identified as "the highest risk", with specific reasons to be discussed in detail in the subsequent report.

2.Cells with mild safety hazards (5 pieces)
- Detection characteristics: Local gas production or electrolyte loss.
- Risk level: Classified as "mild safety hazard".

3. Cell with high safety risk (1 piece)
- Detection characteristics: Large-area signal attenuation, suspected severe gas production or liquid consumption.
- Risk level: Determined as "high safety risk".

II. Follow-up Arrangements
In response to the issues found in this test, our company will further carry out the following work:
- Conduct in-depth disassembly and cell performance retesting on the "highest-risk" power banks to analyze the causes of risks;
- Carry out cycle life tests and thermal runaway simulation experiments on cells with safety hazards to assess actual usage risks;
- Feedback the test results to relevant brand owners and promote the industry to establish stricter cell safety testing standards.

❗❗❗The battery factory fire in South Korea made people understand the importance of safety testing in the development of the battery industry.😔😔😔
On June 24, a fire broke out at a battery manufacturer's factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, a suburb of Seoul, South Korea. So far, 23 people have been confirmed dead.🎆🎆🎆
According to information provided by witnesses, approximately 35,000 lithium batteries exploded one after another. The main reason is that a finished lithium primary battery burned due to overheating, eventually causing the battery in the entire workshop to explode and releasing a large amount of lithium smoke and other toxic substances.
Lithium-ion batteries are used in many consumer appliances, powering laptops, cameras, smartphones, electric vehicles and more. Therefore, safety monitoring of lithium-ion batteries is the most important and indispensable.
