One of the best things about working in international trade is the people you meet along the way. ๐
After finishing our business discussions at the company, I took two clients from India out for dinner. They follow a strict vegetarian diet, so after several days in China, they had mostly been eating rice and noodles. Luckily, thereโs an Indian restaurant near our office โ and it felt like a small rescue for their homesick stomachs. ๐
After dinner, they wanted to experience a little local flavor, so we rode electric scooters back to the office. The whole ride was full of smiles and โamazing experienceโ moments.
What I admired most was their dedication. We went straight back to work afterward, and only when we finished did I realize they had a 7:00 a.m. flight to Hangzhou the next morning.
Later, I found myself thinking: Iโve been in international trade for 15 years now.
One of the reasons I still love this work is simple โ every client visit is more than business.
You talk about products, of course, but also culture, life, management, and the way companies grow. And sometimes, despite very different backgrounds, you find the same sincerity and the same way of thinking.
Thatโs a special part of this job I never take for granted.
