Citizen Guides Citizen Guides is an idea for a new app that matches migrants and refugees with their personal guides in a new society, based on interests they share

I propose a creation of an EU wide platform and app that would match citizens willing to volunteer and refugees\migrants based on their interest\profession. EU citizens would create a profile about themselves and would commit to a one-month volunteering contract. A refugee\migrant would have the opportunity to search through the profiles and match with a person who they would like to be their gui

de. This would give them the possibility to shadow at work, and in social life, a EU citizen and would serve as their personal, customised window to the new society. Therefore for example a dentist from Syria would not just be a refugee met with a slow and impersonal social welfare system but would be once again a dentist talking to a colleague, or could for example finally realise her dream of becoming a graphic designer by matching with a graphic designer or could match with a mum and explore social mechanisms and strategies of mums in a new society.
