One of the things that makes doing this work at OpenAI different is that the technology we’re building can also be part of the solution. Every month, millions of people already use ChatGPT to help identify and avoid scams. Today, we’re building on that by supporting the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) to launch www.scam.org.
Powered by OpenAI models and built with partners across cybersecurity, consumer protection, and victim support, scam.org is a new global platform to help everyday people spot scams, report fraud, and find support.
This new platform allows people to:
▪️ Check suspicious messages, websites, or calls in real time
▪️ Learn how to recognize and avoid scams
▪️ Report fraud more easily
▪️ Connect with trusted support organizations in their country and language
Even in early testing, we’ve seen it in action. A colleague’s relative used the platform to check a suspicious website, confirm it was a scam, and avoid losing money to a fraudulent transaction.
This is exactly the kind of real-world problem AI should be used to solve. Congrats to Jorij Abraham and the team at GASA on the launch.
