Throwback Thursday -
Back to when I used to use chalkboard sandwich boards to make posters for events.

Whilst at uni SRUC I was also heavily involved in organising events with and for students on campus starting with a Winter Ceilidh run by class reps in our 2nd year (2013).
This became a "social committee" who with SRUC Students' Association organised events throughout the year, and a full couple of weeks of freshers each year. Most of which were held in the UWS Students' Union bar or Furys Nightclub Ayr .

All of these events needed advertising so that was plenty of practice for me to make posters and sandwich boards.
Happy to hear that until covid the winter ceilidh was still going!

Throwback Thursday
Typography -
I've always had an interest in words, which is maybe surprising considering I'm dyslexic.
I'd collect quotes, poems, lyrics, botanical/ animal descriptions, excerpts from books and enjoyed manipulating them to make typographical art (still do).

As a teenager I'd spend hours upon hours creating art where the subject was comprised of the subjects name itself. It was like making a puzzle fitting the words and colours together to form a bigger picture.

Typography is still key part of how I work, however I have learnt that maybe I should stay away from drawing friends faces as I'm not particularly skilled at making flattering attempts! 😂🙈
