Today, the speed of digital design systems is in the GHz, a speed that creates more prominent challenges than the past.
And with edge rates at the picoseconds, any impedance discontinuity, disturbance in inductance or capacitance can adversely
affect signal quality.

ESD Protection Layout Guide

Successfully protecting a system against electrostatic discharge (ESD) is largely dependent on the printed circuit board (PCB) design. While selecting the proper transient voltage suppressor (TVS) founds the basis
of an ESD protection strategy, protecting a system against ESD using a TVS relies upon the TVS being able to shunt the I_ESD to ground. Optimizing a PCB Layout for ESD suppression is largely dependant on designing the path to ground for IESD
with as little impedance as possible.Here are some guidelines.

Proteger con éxito un sistema contra la descarga electrostática (ESD) depende en gran medida del Diseño de la placa de circuito impreso (PCB). Si bien la selección del supresor de voltaje transitorio adecuado (TVS) es la base de una estrategia
de protección contra la ESD, proteger un sistema contra las ESD usando un TVS se basa en que el TVS pueda derivar la I_ESD a tierra.
La optimización de un diseño de PCB para la supresión de ESD depende en gran medida del diseño de la ruta a tierra para la IESD on la menor impedancia posible.
