When every second counts... 🚨🛰️

​Live-tracking isn’t just about following cross-country flights or cheering for pilots from home—it’s a crucial safety lifeline.

​Recently, Volandoo's beta parachute deployment alert feature proved its vital importance in the field during an incident in Aspen involving a mid-air collision between a paraglider and a hang glider. Thanks to the tracking data and automated alerts, the emergency chain was activated instantly: local contacts and authorities were notified with precise coordinates, enabling rescue teams to reach the pilots quickly and ensure everyone was rescued efficiently.

​Our thoughts are with the injured pilots, and we wish them a smooth and speedy recovery. 🙏

​As our developer Pedro Enrique highlighted, maintaining a safe margin with monitoring tools means that when a real emergency strikes, the intervention can be life-saving—even if it occasionally results in checking on a false alarm. In a previous, separate alert, pilot Matt C. shared this perspective after we checked in on him: "You might get a bunch of false alarms, but for sure once the emergency is real, your intervention can be crucial to the safety of the pilot!"

Campeonato de España de Parapente, categoría Sport! 🏆🇪🇸

​¡Qué evento tan increíble! Revive la intensidad, las tácticas y las vistas alucinantes del Campeonato de España de la categoría Sport.

​Desde los diarios briefings y la comprobación de la meteo hasta los emocionantes despegues, las intensas carreras en el aire y las celebraciones en la meta, Volandoo se enorgullece de haber impulsado —via la plataforma y los trackers Voolaris— el seguimiento en vivo y de mantener a todos los pilotos conectados de principio a fin. 🛰️⚡

​Lo más destacado y resumen del campeonato

​La competición: Celebrado en Áger, el campeonato constó de 5 mangas reñidas y difíciles en condiciones complicadas, lidiando con el riesgo de tormentas, vientos cruzados, fuerte levante y la necesidad de utilizar hasta tres despegues diferentes.

​La acción: Mientras que muchas mangas tuvieron goles masivos, otras —como el último día en Sant Llorenç de Montgai— se convirtieron en juegos de supervivencia táctica debido a las tormentas que se acercaban y a las rutas complejas por el valle.

​Los ganadores: Juanma García se proclamó Campeón, y Rafael Rosa se llevó el subcampeonato tras un vuelo táctico brillante a través de rápidos recorridos por los valles y ascensos por las laderas.

Starlink-enabled tracking for pilots is a step closer following successful trials by Alfapilot Instruments, makers of the Voolaris Tracker. After more than two years of development, in-flight testing and international competitions, they have managed to develop a tracking system that integrates Starlink satellite connectivity onto a tracker using 4G LTE mobile network and bidirectional Fanet communication.
