Welcome to the Cohort 7 Startup Graduation and Entrepreneurial Community Launch Program in Wolaita S**o! This incredible milestone celebrates a dynamic network of young innovators, visionaries, and changemakers who are coming together to redefine the future of their local economy.

Powered by the SEED Program, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), the Mastercard Foundation, and Orbit Innovation Hub, this initiative goes beyond launching individual businesses. We are building a self-sustaining entrepreneurial ecosystem.

In this video, you’ll hear from inspiring founders—like Eyerusalem Mengistu (Eco Malta Packaging), Libinesh Demeke (City Bloom), Ephrata Anteneh, and many others—who are tackling regional challenges ranging from plastic pollution to accessible healthcare and agricultural efficiency. We are incredibly proud to see Pazion Cherinet, CEO of Orbit Innovation Hub, Orbit Health & Orbit AI Labs, representing true Ethiopian entrepreneurship on the Ethio Startups judging panel! 🌟

Through Orbit Innovation Hub, Pazion and his team have helped incubate dozens of local startups and create jobs for our youth. On the show, he gave young founders the exact advice they need to succeed in our country:

👉 Don't build apps people don't want to use. If Ethiopians prefer a phone call, give them an automated phone service!

👉 Don't forget about the community. If you build a legal app, make sure it includes free (Pro Bono) advice for those who can't afford it.

👉 Always think about access. How are everyday people going to get the devices they need to use your service?

This is how we build a digital Ethiopia that works for everyone. 👏🇪🇹

They are living proof that disability is NOT inability. This resilient team of entrepreneurs creates top-quality home furniture, office materials, and even crucial medical equipment like hospital beds and wheelchairs. 🦽🛋️

For a long time, their biggest challenge was getting their beautiful products seen outside of their local town. We at Orbit Innovation Hub are so proud to partner with them through our Digital Market Linkage (DML) Initiative!
