ከካሊፎርኒያ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሳንታ ባርባራ በኮምፒውተር እና ኤሌክትሪካል ኢንጂነሪንግ ተመርቆ በአሜሪካ በሚገኘው ሞቶሮላ (Motorola) ኩባንያ ውስጥ ለተወሰነ ጊዜ ከሰራ በኋላ፣ ዩሱፍ የሀገሪቱን የስራ ገበያ በቴክኖሎጂ ለማዘመን ባለው ራዕይ ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ተመለሰ።
• 2004፡ የኢትዮጆብስን የመጀመሪያ ፅንሰ-ሃሳብ ይፋ አደረገ። በወቅቱ በኢትዮጵያ ኢንተርኔት በስፋት የማይታወቅ ሲሆን፣ የስራ ማስታወቂያዎች የሚወጡት በማስታወቂያ ሰሌዳዎች እና በጋዜጦች ላይ ብቻ ነበር።
• ራዕዩ፡ መሠረተ ልማቱ ገና ባይዘጋጅም፣ በቴክኖሎጂ በመታገዝ በአሰሪዎች እና በሰራተኞች መካከል "ድልድይ" መፍጠር ይፈልግ ነበር።

የ10 ዓመቱ የኪሳራ ፈተና

• ጽናት፡ የቴክኖሎጂ ዘርፉን በገንዘብ ለመደገፍ በባህላዊ የሰው ኃይል አማካሪነት እና የቅጥር አገልግሎቶች ላይ በመሳተፍ ድርጅቱን አቆይቷል። በእነዚያ አስቸጋሪ ዓመታት የገጠመውን "የራስን ብቃት የመጠራጠር" ፈተናን በማለፍ፣ አፍሪካ ወደፊት በዲጂታል እንደምትለወጥ በጽኑ ያምን ነበር።
