As interior design studios grow, it’s often the smaller touchpoints that get overlooked.

For Studio Southsea, creating social media templates was an opportunity to strengthen how the studio presents itself online and ensure every project is communicated with the same level of care as the work itself.

Strong branding isn’t just about a logo or website. It’s about creating consistency across every interaction someone has with your studio.

When those touchpoints work together, they help reinforce credibility, build recognition and create a more cohesive brand experience.

Often, it’s this consistency that shapes how a studio is perceived.

A few weeks ago we reviewed several architecture and interior design websites. Despite serving different sectors, locations and client types, many looked pretty similar.

This raises an interesting question.

If every studio uses the same visual cues to signal premium services, are those cues actually helping them stand out?

Lesson for design studios:

A beige palette and elegant serif typeface do not make a brand premium. They simply make it look like everyone else who made the same decision.

Look at studios such as Studio Ashby, Red Deer and Duelle. Each has a distinct visual identity. Each communicates luxury in a different way. Yet all operate at the premium end of the market.

Because luxury is not a style. It is a perception built through:

- Clear positioning
- A strong point of view
- Consistent brand experiences
- Confidence in what makes you different

A clean layout, quality graphics, and a versatile logo suite can create a strong first impression.

But they are not what makes a brand memorable.

The most recognisable studios are rarely the ones that follow every industry trend. They are the ones that express something unique about who they are, what they believe and how they work.

What is one visual trend you think the architecture and interiors industry has overused?

A strong brand is not just about how your studio looks. It is about how confidently you show up, communicate your value, and connect with the right clients.

When Hannah approached us to create the brand for Studio Pascoe, she was launching a new chapter of her interior design business. The goal was to create a brand that reflected her expertise, elevated her market presence, and provided a strong foundation for future growth.

Together, we developed a brand identity designed to communicate the studio’s thoughtful approach, attention to detail, and commitment to creating beautiful, functional interiors.

Hearing how that work has helped our clients move forward with greater clarity and confidence is always the most rewarding part of the process.

If your studio has evolved but your brand no longer reflects the quality of your work, it may be time to rethink how you’re positioning your business.

A welcome brochure might seem like a small detail.

For the right studio, it can become a powerful tool.

When we started working with Sophie Bates Architects, the studio was producing thoughtful, high end residential architecture, but the way the business was being presented did not fully reflect the quality of the work.

Potential clients needed a clearer understanding of the studio’s approach, values, and what made the experience of working with Sophie different from other architectural practices.

As part of a wider brand strategy and visual identity project, we created a welcome brochure designed to:

- Build trust from the first interaction
- Communicate the studio’s process with clarity
- Reinforce its premium positioning
- Create a more cohesive client experience
- Set expectations before a project begins

The welcome brochure became a tool that helped communicate value, strengthen confidence, and position Sophie Bates Architects as the premium, trusted practice it had already become.

This is often what repositioning looks like. Not a dramatic change in direction, but ensuring perception catches up with reality.

Serious clients are not just evaluating your portfolio. They are evaluating the experience of working with your practice.

If you’re attracting random projects, the problem isn’t always your work.

Often, it’s how your studio is positioned.

Strong branding helps potential clients quickly understand:

- What you do
- Who you work with
- What makes your approach different

When that’s clear, you’re more likely to attract projects that align with your expertise, values, and long-term goals.

A few things you can do this week:

Review your website
↳ Does it clearly communicate who you serve?

Audit your portfolio
↳ Are you showcasing the type of work you want more of?

Refine your messaging
↳ Remove generic language and be more specific about your approach.

Check for consistency
↳ Your website, portfolio, and social media should tell the same story.

Better-fit projects start with better positioning.

The stronger your brand, the easier it becomes for the right clients to recognise your value.

When most enquiries come through existing contacts, reputation does a lot of the heavy lifting.

The challenge comes when someone discovers your studio for the first time.

1) Can they quickly understand what makes you different?

2) Can they see who you’re best suited to help?

3) Can they understand the value you bring beyond the projects in your portfolio?

A strong brand helps answer those questions before the first conversation takes place.

That’s why positioning, messaging, and perception matter just as much as the work itself.

How much of your studio’s growth currently depends on referrals?

A strong portfolio may show what you create, but it no longer says enough on its own.

Today’s clients want more than beautiful projects. They want to understand who you are, how you think, and whether they can trust you with their vision.

For Interior Designers, Architects and Garden Designers, exceptional work is expected.

What sets studios apart is:

- clear positioning
- a distinctive point of view
- consistent branding
- thoughtful messaging
- a considered client experience

Social media templates help maintain consistency across every brand touchpoint.

When Zoe Claymore Garden Design approached Studio Sulis, the objective was not only to refine the visual identity, but to elevate the studio’s perception, attract more aligned clients and communicate its expertise with greater confidence and clarity.

Because strong branding is not just about aesthetics.

It’s about shaping how your business is perceived before a client even enquires.

Strong brands are not built through visuals alone.

For design studios, strategy is what gives branding depth, direction and meaning. This help you attract the right clients, communicate your value clearly and position your business with confidence.

A logo can create recognition. Strategy creates connection, trust and long-term growth.

If your brand no longer reflects the quality, direction or ambition of your business, strategy is often the missing piece.

Clients remember the experience of working with you.

Not just the final design, but everything that leads up to it.

• The enquiry
• The first call
• The proposal
• The way you communicate

That’s your brand experience.

And it’s what sets you apart.

When your experience feels intentional, everything changes:

• Clients feel more confident choosing you
• Your process feels easier to understand
• You stop repeating yourself on every enquiry
• Your value becomes easier to see

Because people aren’t just buying design.

They’re buying clarity, trust, and how it feels to work with you.
