A full house, busy tables, and so much creativity in one room. 🤍✨

From the very first session, MAC was filled with people ready to explore Islamic art and calligraphy. One after another, I watched everyone turn simple lines and patterns into something completely their own.

My favourite moment? That little look of surprise when someone steps back and realises, “I actually made this!” 🥹

Different ages, different styles, different hands, all creating together.

This is exactly why I love teaching. Sharing our artistic heritage, making it accessible, and seeing a room full of people leave carrying a piece they created themselves. 🤍

There’s something so special about seeing different generations connect through art.

My third public Arabic calligraphy workshop in the UK, my first at Midlands Arts Centre, and another beautiful year with Spirit of Pakistan.

8 sessions, every single one full! From children picking up a qalam for the first time to adults carefully perfecting each stroke, the curiosity, little questions and proud “I did it!” moments were my favourite part. 🥹🖌️

Alhamdulillah, all the preparation was worth it. I think it’s safe to say this one was a hit!

And a special thank you to the talented Hiba Khan for capturing these little moments so beautifully. 📸✨

Some days become beautiful little milestones in your journey. ✨

On Tuesday, I had the privilege of being part of an incredible event at Birmingham Council House, celebrating the culture, creativity and spirit of Pakistan.

One of the most special moments was presenting my artwork to Mr Zafar Iqbal, former Lord Mayor of Birmingham definitely a moment I’ll remember. 🤍

I also had the opportunity to do live Arabic calligraphy, personalising hand fans with guests’ names using my calligraphy pen. There was something so lovely about creating each one in the moment and seeing people’s reactions as their names came to life through calligraphy.

A beautiful day filled with art, culture, heritage and meaningful connections. Alhamdulillah for opportunities that allow me to share a little piece of what I love. ✨🤍

Imagine standing before the most powerful man on earth, carrying a message that could change everything… while feeling afraid to even speak.

That was Prophet Musa (AS).

He didn’t ask for wealth. He didn’t ask for status.

He simply turned to Allah and said:

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي ۝ وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي ۝

“My Lord, expand my chest, ease my task, untie the knot from my tongue so they may understand my speech.” (Qur’an 20:25–28)

This du’a wasn’t just for Musa (AS). It’s a reminder for every one of us before an interview, a presentation, a difficult conversation, or any moment that feels bigger than us.

Every brushstroke in this piece is a reminder that courage doesn’t begin with confidence, it begins with turning to Allah.

It was a privilege to attend the Visit Pakistan Tourism & Travel Showcase at the magnificent Birmingham Council House, part of the Spirit of Pakistan Festival, organised by journalist and travel writer Anam Hussain.

Bringing together travel experts, artists, businesses and storytellers, the event celebrated Pakistan's breathtaking landscapes, rich heritage and growing tourism industry, while encouraging greater cultural understanding through travel.

I was especially honoured to exhibit and officially launch Kulfi & Blossom, a creative brand inspired by a love of both British and Pakistani cultures. Through art, storytelling and design, Kulfi & Blossom celebrates the beauty of living between two worlds and finding home in both. Thank you to everyone who supported me and shared how the concept resonated with them ( Andy next time there will be a Balti inspired merch for you)

A heartfelt thank you to Anam and everyone involved in Spirit of Pakistan for creating such a thoughtful and inspiring event. It was a wonderful reminder that travel is more than discovering new places; it's about building connections, celebrating heritage and sharing the stories that bring us together.

From the depths to mercy in bloom. Hope never sinks. 🐳

Explanation:
The central calligraphy features the duʿa of Prophet Yunus (AS) while he was in the belly of the whale, symbolising a moment of deep reflection and turning back to Allah. The surrounding blue tones represent the depths of the water his place of isolation. While the blooming flowers reflect divine mercy, showing that even in the deepest darkness, mercy surrounds and uplifts. 🤍
