Great day today, getting this PK Sound system ready for a big night at The O2 on Saturday. 🔊🥊

AF Live is super hyped up to providing sound at another boxing mega-fight as Moses ITAUMA takes on Filip Hrgović for the IBF World Heavyweight title at a massive event from Queensberry, streamed around the world on DAZN 💯

Our engineers are building a true monster of a system using this incredible hardware, bringing no less than 18x T18 sub and 72x T8 loudspeakers. No matter which aisle you’re sat in, from the front row to the nose-bleeds, you’ll be feeling this one. 💥

It’s an absolute pleasure to be working alongside our partners at Arena Video Ltd as always, whose industry-leading video production will lend proceedings some trademark flare. 🔥

This is going to be an unmissable fight for boxing fans. We cannot wait. 💪

The Radical Redesign was so real. ✨ With each passing edition it seems that must have reached its peak, only to then be surpassed once again with what follows. 📈 It was a vintage year for the festival and one which AF Live were incredibly proud to have played a part in delivering. 💪 Any given event will present a unique set of challenges to address and with a festival of this many areas, the variety of contexts within which custom technical production solutions are required is myriad. 💯 Three stages which epitomised this from last weekend, were Hydro XL, Lion’s Den and Nexus. 🔊 We will be sharing an in-depth look at how a range of technical production disciplines came together to create each of these world’s in which attendees came to lose themselves. 🚀

How does it happen? 👀 Just a quick shout out to everyone whose skill, determination and collaboration bring the technical production Boomtown to life. 💯 It is AF Live’s privilege to continue to have the opportunity to work alongside you all, in our role as technical production lead. The passion for this event is something so special and to share this with such an incredible range of talented people and teams on such an expansive project is nothing short of a pleasure. 🙏 They say it takes a village to raise a child so it’s no surprise that it takes a small nation of professionals & volunteers to raise a technical production behemoth like Boomtown. 🔥

Getting things running in the Gower. 🏃‍♀️

AF Live had the pleasure of travelling to the Gower in South Wales last weekend for Love Trails Festival, where our team delivered site-wide technical production. To have the opportunity to work at an event with such a special atmosphere was amazing. 🌞

Across the site of this wholesome weekender, AF Live supplied, installed and managed technical production across all areas, facilitating a line up comprised of DJ sets, live music, yoga, inspirational talks, workshops and group workout sessions. 💪

The festival has a really unique feel, with passion for running and wellness taking centre stage. Our team made sure to take care of production across site, while attendees took care of each other and themselves. 💕

AF Live spent Saturday night in Southampton, trying out some powerful new kit at an event filled with homegrown talent. 🥊

The sound of ‘When the Saints Go Marching In’ filling the summer air of St Mary’s stadium was a frequent reminder of what it meant to those in the stands, to support their local boxing talent. 💪

‘Marching In’ was another stellar promotion from Queensberry Promotions alongside Matchroom and streamed worldwide on DAZN. The main event featured a world title showdown between the dangerous Italian technician Magnesi and Southampton’s very own Ryan ‘The Piranha’ Garner. Those in attendance saw their belief rewarded as the hometown hero claimed the win. 💥

On site, providing full audio production services throughout the stadium, the AF Live team took the opportunity to some fantastic kit from PK Sound through it's paces. Working alongside a technician from the PK Sound team, a full sound system comprised of their innovative hardware was deployed. The east and west facing hangs were made up of 12 x T10 units, while the north & south facing hangs featured 10 x T8 units each. These were supported by 8 x T218 subs and a mix of TX26 and T8 units for front and in fill. ⚡️

The results spoke for themselves. Our experienced team came away thoroughly impressed with the power, coverage and clarity achieved throughout the large venue. Equally as impressive as the sound quality, was the unit's variable robotic actuation controls. The arrays can be flown flat and then adjusted for vertical taper and horizontal coverage once deployed - a workflow which offered immense capacity for fine tuning. 🔊

Meanwhile, our production partners at Arena Video once again brought their absolute A-game, equipping the ring, walk-on stage and stadium at large with a selection of stunning video screens, ensuring not a single moment of action was missed. 🔆

What a weekend! 🔥🕷🔊

Working hard to deliver top tier sound for this legendary piece of British festival lore and then seeing the spider come to life, surrounded by a sea of ecstatic ravers had us feeling some kind of way. 💯

Got to give a massive thanks to Arcadia for getting us involved and a massive thanks to Forbidden Forest for getting them involved. Not to mention a massive thanks to our entire AF Live team for doing what you do best and absolutely smashing that out. 💪

Festival season has well and truly landed, let's have it! 💥

What sound does a Spider make? 🕷

AF Live are extremely proud to be working with Arcadia once again, this time bringing one of their most iconic installations, The Spider, to Leicestershire for the intensely immersive, Forbidden Forest festival. 🌳

It’s always a pleasure to work-alongside our longtime collaborators at Arcadia - they’re a great team to work with and the scope & creativity of their work always brings out the best in us. That’s why we pulled out all the stops to make sure this is the best sounding spider ever. 💪

The mission was to wrap this leviathan in a web of sound and to push this 360 sound-field iteration up to new heights, we have equipped the arena with it’s first 9-point L-Acoustics system. Each of the nine towers in the outer ring features 4 x K2 & 1 x KS28 on the top platform, with another 2 x KS28 & 6 x Kiva II underneath. Below the beast’s belly, the inner sound field is made up of 3-points, each formed from 2 x SB28 and 3 x Kara II. 🔊

From our team we had Bryan McLean on Design & Systems, Ben Pedley on FoH, Dan Stewart as DJ Tech and Matt Peters as PA Tech. 🛠

We’re really happy with the result we have achieved with this one - with the sound system offering a fantastic balance of power with clarity against propagation & external sound-level control. One of the key priorities on this site is keeping the impact on local residents to the lowest level possible - something we have taken extensive measures to ensure. 💯

So, in summary, what sound does a Spider make? It’s makes a bloody nice one. 🔥

Main Stage Audio at The Great British Farm Fest from AF Live. 🔊

Our second engagement of last weekend took an arm of the crew up the road from Bristol to Warwickshire for a blazing hot weekend of 360 technical production at this great event. 🐄

This celebration of all things agricultural promised 3 days of farming, food, livestock and good old-fashioned countryside chaos. On all counts, it delivered and added a mega musical line up too. 🥳

The weekend welcomed performances from Groove Armada, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Alex James' Britpop Classical, 10cc, Chris Moyles DJ Set and more. Through the whole weekend, the AF Live team were on hand to ensure not a note was missed. 💯

AF Live were on hand to provide a full suite of technical production, from the start of the build, across event days and right through to the end of load out. Having overseen the build of the Main and Trailer stages, the team then managed tech production across both for the weekend. 💪

Technical production services provided by the team included design, delivery, and management of audio, video, lights and live camera feeds for both the main stage and the grand ring arena - the second of which saw tractor dancing, car racing and even an RAF skydive. 🚜

The world of TV was well represented at this one, with Amazon Prime having a strong presence across the site as well as a live stream of Britain’s Got Talent being arranged, so that attendees to witness the Hawkstone Orchestra get through to the finals. 📺

The main-man himself, Jeremy Clarkson was on site throughout the weekend and entertained the crowds with talks from the Trailer Stage accompanied by Top Gear and Clarkson’s Farm producer, Andy Weiman. 🎤

Gotta give a massive shout out to Nicki Mitchard and Lucas Hynes who co-project managed this one and our production partners Wingnut Lighting, South Point Films and Arena Video. ⚡️
