💬 “I have seen some systems in the past, but nothing as slick as this!”

That’s the kind of feedback we love to hear at VISION MP. 🙌

One of our clients had their ISO audit this week, and that was the auditor’s reaction to seeing their VISION Training Matrix.

A Training Matrix shouldn’t be complicated, clunky or buried in endless spreadsheets.

VISION gives managers a clear view of training and competency across their organisation, making it easy to spot gaps, upcoming expiries and overdue requirements, while keeping the records needed for compliance in one place.

And when an auditor describes it as “nothing as slick as this”, we’ll happily take that.

We’re delighted to share that VISION’s Edwards-Miller has been appointed as a Digital Construction Innovator Ambassador for London Build 2026. 👏

Digital innovation has a huge role to play in the future of construction – not simply through adopting new technology, but by using it to solve real operational challenges. At VISION, that means helping organisations move away from fragmented spreadsheets and manual processes towards a clearer, more connected approach to managing training, skills, competence and compliance.

London Build’s Ambassador Programme brings together people from across the industry who are passionate about driving positive change, with digital construction one of its core communities. Faye’s appointment is a fantastic opportunity to join the wider conversation around how digital tools can support safer, more efficient and better-informed ways of working across the built environment.

Congratulations Faye – we’re looking forward to at Excel London this November! https://www.londonbuildexpo.com/

Great to be out on the road delivering VISION MP training! 🚛📚

Last week, we had the pleasure of delivering an interactive training day with the Stevenage Borough Council Waste Team, who have recently joined the VISION family.

The session was designed to give the team a practical introduction to the Training Matrix and Team Engagement modules, with a focus on how they can use VISION effectively in their day-to-day roles.

Rather than simply talking through the system, we wanted the day to be hands-on, interactive and relevant to the team, giving everyone the opportunity to explore the platform, ask questions and build confidence in using it.

It was fantastic to meet the team face-to-face and see the engagement throughout the session. 👏

A big thank you to everyone at Stevenage Borough Council for making us feel so welcome. We’re looking forward to supporting you as you continue to get the most from VISION!

On Monday 17th August, the VISION team came together at our head office in Suffolk for a company update, hosted by our MD, Ruth Crothers.

Ruth shared a great update on how we’re tracking against our KPIs and Business Plan, followed by a sales update from our Business Development Director, Faye Edwards-Miller.

Sometimes, taking a step back and reassessing where you are, where you’re heading and how you can continue to grow can be incredibly powerful. We also spent some time on “Blue Sky Thinking” exploring ideas without limitations and considering how we can continue to improve and develop our platform. Some fantastic ideas came out of the session!

We then headed to Thorpeness for lunch before rounding off the day with a bit of fun and some well-deserved team time.

Bringing the VISION team together for these updates, planning sessions and opportunities to share ideas has become a regular part of our journey – and it’s great to see the energy, collaboration and ideas that come from them.

Here’s to continuing to learn, improve and grow together!

A smarter way to manage training is here.

Over the last couple of weeks, we've been talking about the growing challenge facing Learning & Development teams.

As organisations grow, so does the administration that comes with managing workforce training. Course bookings, attendance records, certificates, training matrices and compliance records all take valuable time away from developing people.

Today, we're delighted to announce a new API integration between C&C Training Ltd and VISION MP Ltd that helps solve that challenge.

Now, when a delegate completes training with C&C Training, VISION users will benefit from:
✅ Automatic recording of course completion
✅ Instant certificate uploads
✅ Real-time updates of training matrices
✅ Full maintenance of compliance records - zero manual administration

No spreadsheets. No duplicate data entry. No delays.

The result is a secure, seamless flow of information between our systems, reducing manual administration, improving accuracy and giving organisations greater confidence in their competence records.

This is far more than just connecting two systems. It’s about giving L&D professionals more time to focus on what really matters: developing capability, strengthening competence and supporting safer, more productive organisations.

The future of training management is automated.

When does training administration become a barrier to workforce competence?

One conversation this week really made us stop and think.

We were speaking to the Head of Learning & Development for a large organisation employing around 900 people. They loved what they saw, but their immediate reaction was simple: "At our size, we'd need automation."

It wasn't a comment about technology for technology's sake. It reflected a challenge that many L&D leaders are now facing.

As organisations grow, the administrative burden of managing learning increases exponentially. Every course booking, attendance record, certificate, refresher, training matrix and compliance report adds another layer of manual administration. None of those tasks are particularly difficult in isolation, but together they consume a significant amount of time and resource.

Today's L&D teams are expected to do far more than organise training courses.

They are responsible for developing capability, identifying skills gaps, supporting operational performance and, increasingly, maintaining evidence that people are competent to carry out their roles safely and effectively.

In sectors such as construction, infrastructure, defence and utilities, organisations are no longer simply asked whether training has taken place.

They are increasingly expected to demonstrate competence through accurate, up-to-date records that can withstand scrutiny from clients, regulators and auditors. And that becomes much harder when critical information is spread across spreadsheets, emails and multiple systems, with teams manually transferring data from one place to another.

This is where automation becomes strategically important.

Removing repetitive administrative tasks and increasing the number of routine processes that can happen automatically gives L&D professionals more time to focus on improving capability, supporting teams and ensuring the organisation has the skills it needs for the future. And that should be the ultimate goal behind automation.

"It makes life ten times easier." Possibly, that's the best measure of whether a system is doing its job.

Before introducing VISION, oil and gas specialist Rhyal Engineering managed staff training records using spreadsheets. Keeping track of qualifications, certificate renewals and training requirements across the workforce was a time-consuming overhead, with the ever-present risk that something could be missed.

Today, everything is managed through VISION's Training Matrix.

The team has instant visibility of training records, automated reminders before certifications expire, and a clear picture of workforce competence across the business. Less time is spent on paperwork, and the company has moved to a more proactive and controlled approach to training management.

It's an uncomplicated change that has made a significant difference to day-to-day operations.

Supervisors play a vital role in maintaining safe and compliant workplaces.

Beyond knowledge and competence, they're also responsible for ensuring the people they manage have the right training, qualifications and information to carry out work safely. And that can be incredibly challenging when records are spread across paper records, spreadsheets, filing systems and multiple locations.

Questions many organisations are asking include:
✓ Can supervisors quickly verify who is competent to carry out specific tasks?
✓ Are training records and certifications up to date?
✓ Can expiring qualifications be identified before they become a risk?
✓ Is there clear visibility of workforce competence across teams and sites?

A structured approach to competency management helps supervisors make informed decisions, maintain compliance and focus on what matters most: keeping people safe.

By digitalising and centralising training records, qualifications, certifications and learning resources, organisations can give supervisors greater visibility and confidence when managing their teams.
