25 years ago today, our journey began.

Since then, we’ve helped organisations stay connected, informed and in control, delivering tracking, telematics and critical communication solutions for vehicles, assets and people.

Technology has changed enormously over the past quarter of a century, and we’ve evolved with it. But our focus has remained the same: providing dependable solutions, expert knowledge and great service to our customers.

Today is a chance to celebrate how far we’ve come and, most importantly, to say thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey, our customers, partners, suppliers and team members, past and present.

25 years of Complexus. Here’s to the next chapter. πŸ₯‚

A recently disclosed cyberattack on a Polish combined heat and power plant provides an important lesson for anyone operating remote or critical infrastructure.

According to reporting by The Hacker News, attackers were able to move through a private cellular APN and ultimately reach industrial control systems, shutting down a steam turbine and process-water treatment system.

The incident highlights something we believe is extremely important:

Connectivity is only one part of the solution. How that connectivity is secured, segmented and managed matters just as much.

Private APNs can play an important role in connecting remote assets and operational technology, but they should not automatically be considered trusted environments.

When designing communications for critical and operational systems, considerations such as:

πŸ” Client and network isolation
πŸ›‘οΈ Segmentation between systems
πŸ”‘ Strong authentication and access control
πŸ“‘ Secure management of cellular routers
🚫 Restricting unnecessary services and device-to-device communication
πŸ‘οΈ Monitoring and visibility

need to form part of the architecture from the outset.

Complexus works with organisations where secure, resilient communications aren't simply convenient. They're critical to operational success.

Incidents like this are a valuable reminder that secure connectivity needs to be designed as a complete system, not treated as a SIM card, router or private APN in isolation.

Connect securely. Monitor What Matters.

πŸ†˜ Personal safety isn't just about what happens during an emergency β€” it's about getting help before a situation escalates.

In a recent episode of the BNI UK Podcast, Aaron Donnelly discussed how wearable tracking and lone worker solutions are helping organisations protect staff working in higher-risk environments.

For sectors such as social care, housing, healthcare and community services, employees often work alone and regularly visit unfamiliar locations.

In these situations, reaching for a mobile phone isn't always practical and can sometimes make a situation worse.

That's why discreet personal safety devices are becoming increasingly important.

Worn as part of an ID badge, these devices can provide location awareness, welfare checks and silent panic alerts, allowing workers to signal for assistance without drawing attention to themselves.

The goal isn't just emergency response.

It's giving organisations greater visibility, helping teams check on staff wellbeing and ensuring support can be provided when it's needed most.

πŸ‘‰ If your lone workers felt unsafe during a visit, how would they discreetly alert someone for help?

πŸš— Is your vehicle protected when it's out of sight?

In a recent episode of the BNI UK Podcast, Aaron Donnelly discussed one of the most common concerns among owners of high-value vehicles: theft.

Whether it's a prestige car parked at an airport, a vehicle left away from home for an extended period, or a valuable asset sitting outside the protection of your usual security measures, knowing where it is and being alerted to unusual activity can provide valuable peace of mind.

At Complexus, we help businesses and individuals monitor and protect vehicles through intelligent tracking and telemetry solutions that provide visibility, alerts and actionable information when it matters most.

Because the real value isn't seeing a vehicle on a map β€” it's knowing when something isn't right and being able to respond quickly.

πŸ‘‰ If your vehicle was moved unexpectedly today, how long would it take before you knew?

When groups are out completing their DofE walks, keeping track of everyone across different routes and checkpoints can be a challenge.

The Complexus DofE Tracking Box gives teachers and expedition leaders a simple way to maintain visibility of their groups throughout the expedition.

πŸ“ Real-time student tracking
Each group carries a compact GPS tracker, allowing you to see their location as they move along the route.

πŸ“± Dedicated tablet included
The box includes a tablet set up to display your trackers, giving staff a clear overview of where each group is from one place.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Monitor multiple groups
See the progress and location of your teams in real time, helping staff identify when a group may have gone off-route, stopped unexpectedly or needs assistance.

πŸ†˜ Extra reassurance when students are out of sight
DofE expeditions are about giving young people independence. Our tracking solution helps staff maintain oversight without taking that independence away.

Everything you need is supplied together in one convenient box, tablet, GPS trackers and the technology to monitor your groups.

Ideal for schools, colleges, DofE coordinators and expedition providers looking for an additional layer of visibility and safety on Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions.

πŸš› Stop towing nightmares before they happen.

In a recent episode of the BNI UK Podcast, Aaron Donnelly shared an important lesson about communicating technology: don't lead with features, lead with outcomes.

One example came directly from a trades business.

They explained that when working on-site, there are times when a vehicle has to be parked temporarily while equipment is unloaded. Forget to display the permit and suddenly the vehicle is being towed away.

The cost isn't just the recovery fee.

It's missed jobs, delayed projects, unhappy customers and lost revenue.

The technical answer is simple: set up an alert for that scenario.

But the real value isn't the alert itself.

It's avoiding the disruption, stress and financial impact that follows.

As Aaron explains, people don't buy tracking technology because they want another dashboard to look at. They buy it because it helps them protect what matters, whether that's a work vehicle, valuable equipment or the people they care about most.

πŸ‘‰ If your vehicle was moved, towed or taken unexpectedly today, how quickly would you know?

πŸ“Š Most businesses already know where their vehicles are.

The bigger question is:

Do you know what's happening with them?

Telemetry provides valuable insight into fuel usage, engine health, driver behaviour, vehicle utilisation and much more, helping businesses identify issues before they become costly problems.

From reducing fuel costs and minimising downtime to improving fleet performance, the right data can make a significant difference.

Our latest blog explores how telemetry is helping organisations move from reactive management to proactive decision-making.

πŸ“– People don't buy technology. They buy peace of mind.

In a recent episode of the BNI UK Podcast, Aaron Donnelly explained why storytelling is often far more powerful than talking about features and technical capabilities.

At Complexus, we could talk about integrations, telemetry, tracking platforms and system architecture.

But that's not what matters to the end user.

What matters is knowing that the people, vehicles and assets you care about are safe and that you'll be alerted when something needs your attention.

Aaron shared a simple example:

If one of his daughters is driving out of town, late at night, with less than 10% fuel remaining, he receives an alert.

Not because he spends his evenings watching maps and dashboards, but because the technology is configured to notify him about the situations that matter most.

That's the real value of tracking and monitoring solutions.

It's not about collecting data. It's about receiving the right information at the right time, so you can act when it matters.

πŸ‘‰ If you're responsible for a fleet, workforce, assets or site operations, what are the scenarios you'd want to be alerted to before they become a problem?
