Shopify has announced some interesting updates at Unite 2021 which should remove some pain points for a lot of merchants.

Not only are Themes being totally overhauled, the Checkout is being opened up to app access meaning developers will have more access to the currently closed system.

Exciting times for eCommerce store owners using Shopify.

Please ignore these emails, they are designed to scam you by playing on fear.

2FA - erm sorry can you say that in English please?

2FA stands for 2 Factor Authentication, I know right, still makes no sense...

2 factor authentication basically means as well as using a username and a password, you need to prove it's you to log into a website. This is done by either emailing you a link/code or more typically now, sending you a message to your phone.

While it's a pain when your phone is flat or not handy, the upside is even if someone has guessed your password, they still can't access your favourite websites.

Facebook, Instagram, Ebay they all offer this extra protection.

You should enable this wherever you can, it will stop hackers from accessing your data and in some cases pretending to be you!

When was the last time you backed up your computer/laptop?

Computers fail, updates go wrong, having a good backup of your important pictures or files is really important and can save you a lot of heartache.

Cloud backups such as Dropbox are affordable and easy to use.

Don't leave it to chance.. everyone who has ever lost images they cannot replace regrets not backing up.

Windows 10 KB4532693 was released on February 11, and while it was supposed to fix several security issues, it also introduced some rather worrying problems.

Users have reported having files deleted if they are even able to gain access.

There are some workarounds, however it’s not a job for the feint hearted, some people have been able to recover their files, while others have not.

A typical restore is likely to take anywhere from 2-4 hours
