Hi my name is Jordan and I am a junior graphic designer located in Emsworth West Sussex. Just a bit about myself, I love all things related to art and design. I especially love collecting design books that cover type and branding. I am a lover of street art and art movements such as constructivism

to Swiss style design. Random fact about me, I’m obsessed with 80s and 90s nostalgia and my studio is a clear indicator of this, my wife calls it a room full of toys and books. 👏🏻🤣

I’ve been exploring what happens when design systems become tools using specific prompts that generate visual outcomes.

Inspired by the systematic approaches of Armin Hofmann and Karl Gerstner, I wanted to explore how a set of rules could generate visual outcomes.

So I started building a tool.

The aim is to create a system I can use to generate imagery for visual identity projects.

Still very much in progress. But that’s the point.

Massive thanks to Anton Burmistrov for all the inspiration and motivation that led me to wanting to generate and build my own design tools! 👊🏻

Type is more than just letters.

I’ve always been drawn to letterforms—their structure, personality and history.

Whether it’s found type, old design ephemera, signage, sketchbooks or my own type design, I’m constantly collecting inspiration and studying the details.

It’s a fascination that’s shaped the way I think about branding, editorial design and visual identity.

However, we’re always in progress.

Some of my favourite projects begin with a system.

Not a logo.
Not a typeface.

A system.

The Value of Modularity explores how modular thinking can shape the development of letterforms, from calligraphic influence to a contemporary system of geometric components.

Through an iterative process of making, testing and refining, the project evolved into Modularix and a fully bound publication documenting the research, experimentation and outcomes.

Looking back, this project laid the foundations for how I approach typography, visual systems and identity design today.

Big milestone for me 🙌🎉

I’ve officially started my first role in the design industry as a Graphic Designer, working across product and packaging at Simply Brands & FRSH Scents.

After years of studying Graphic Design and putting in the work behind the scenes both freelance and personal work, it feels great to finally step into the industry and start applying it all in a real-world setting.

Grateful for the opportunity and excited to see where this journey goes!
